    Probably need to re-cut it.

Starts at the 5:08 minute margin.

Not everyone fits, sometimes you're a spoon and the coach wants to use you as a fork. Lol Beverly cracks me up lately.
    It is true though.

Defensively, the concerns are there but look at every starter in the rotation, statistically worse. How to even judge at age 20?
Two things he has to do is find a counter with a 12ft shot and get toned. Experience will handle the rest. Some of the centers he's gone up have had 5 or more offseasons of work.

Chopsticks can do everything a fork and a spoon can do with a bowl. :p

This! You can pick, scoop, and stab with chopsticks. They are cheaper too!

btw, not even blaming Green for this

this comes from Silas not establishing a hierarchy, and scapegoating Sengun/establishing a false narrative with Sengun as the scapegoat

I think Green wanted Sengun to be lower on the drop coverage instead of running at Garland.

I hate eating rice with chopsticks.

    Can we do it? Yes.

Is it an affront to all that is good and holy? Hell yes!

Did you watch the bit? It was a legit block against a 7-footer. Clutch was actually surprised while we watched it live together. Said he didn't think Alpi could do this.

I saw it. I just don't think that is something that is going to happen consistent enough to where he would be considered a good rim protector.

One shouldn't even need a spoon for that. Slurping makes soup taste better.

Al P has always been pretty good about challenging folks when in the correct position. The main issue is him getting to that position quickly enough and his inability to do so is what leads to so many dumb fouls being called on him.

    https://www.espn.com/nba/insider/st...roblem-nikola-jokic-game-let-just-say-offense

This article explains pretty much why Alpi can't be the franchise player, a Scola like complimentary piece and occassional hub, sure, but probably not a superstar......because of his athletic limitations.

This seems to be what the Rox believe and some of us fans......we like Alpi, but he isn't the DUDE.

    Some quotes from the article:

    • Per NBA Advanced Stats, 33 players have defended 300 shots at the rim this season. Jokic has allowed the highest field goal percentage (69.0%) on those attempts among this group.
    • Opponents have shot 54.2% on layups and dunks when Jokic is the contesting defender AND he heavily contests the shot, per Second Spectrum tracking. That ranks 64th among 65 players to heavily contest 250 layups and dunks this season. The only player worse? His teammate and backup, Thomas Bryant.

    • The Nuggets are allowing opponents to convert 69.6% of their contested shots in the restricted area this season -- the worst such mark in the NBA. Jokic has contested more than twice as many such shots as any other member of his team in that area, and opponents are making 67.3% of those attempts. He's not setting a great tone.

Jokic's limitations on defense stem in part from physical limitations. By modern NBA standards, the man ESPN's Randy Scott nicknamed "The Dad Bod God," is a relatively slow player. He's listed at 6-foot-11, 284 pounds, but his mobility has always been a question. On offense, he has overcome it, but in the pace-and-space era that lack of mobility is a defensive liability. Almost all of the league's most effective big men are lighter, quicker and bouncier than he is -- something that shows up when he attempts to guard attacking players who simply blow past him.

      • 226 players have defended ball handlers on at least 200 drives this season (that's almost half of the league), but among this massive group Jokic ranks 222nd in efficiency, allowing 1.16 points per chance.

Sengun has exactly the same issues.

Correct. He is not the Dude. I think he is a legit NBA starter and if he developed a mid-range jumper or 3 pt shot and can play average defense he could be an all-star, but franchise type player he is not. We should hang on to him and see how his development goes.

It's hilarious that DD doesn't even realize how bad his own argument is. He is a better defender than the league MVP, playing the same position, tracking similarly on offense at the same age, is only 20 years old, and DD's conclusion is "he can't be the dude", all while blowing KPJ's dong nonstop. It never fails - DD is always wrong. The DD curse, and the reverse DD curse.
