How do you wish for him to be held accountable? If anything, he is the only one Silas holds accountable. And for the record, he played like crap yesterday.
We are clearly not using Sengun properly. The name of the game is inside out. We are playing outside in. The guards are not sharing the sugar like they should be. Sengun is difficult cover. Why do you think every team doubles him in the post? I see a lot of selfish play on this team and it’s the coach responsibility to get these guys playing the right way. We definitely need a new coach.

Check out the trick shot (second to last). And Jabari's comment lol. Also, Tari liked it. Three of the four core players.
As you say, perimeter defense and paint defense are connected. You blame Sengun and think it's his fault. You think KPJ and KMJ are decent perimeter defenders who "have to cover for Sengun". The truth is, it's the other way around. Even Gobert would look like a bad defender with perimeter "defenders" like KPJ, Green, KMJ, "coached" by Silas. The data confirms the eye test here.
How can data confirm the eye test when Gobert never played on the Rox? What we know is Utah had bad perimeter defense just like Rox but they had good overall defense cuz Gobert hard carried the defense....in the regular season anyway. If Gobert can carry Mike Conley and Mitchell he can also carry KPJ and Jalen. Look at stat muse man according to stats Sengun is the worst defending big man. I'm not blaming Sengun I'm just stating facts: https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/worst-defensive-rating-centers-and-power-forwards-this-season
Dude, that is dumbassery at the highest level by statmuse. https://www.nba.com/stats/teams/defense?dir=A&sort=DEF_RATING Sengun's "worst defensive rating as a center" on that statmuse page is just a reflection of our entire team allowing that many points on average. By that measure, Jabari is the worst (or second worst) defending forward and KPJ or Jalen is the worst defending guard. https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/worst-defensive-rating-power-forwards-this-season https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/worst-defensive-rating-guards-this-season Statmuse sucks. Use some real data, like stathead. The data on defensive win shares and box plus minus of Jalen, KMJ, KPJ and even Jabari and Tari vs. that of Alpi. I posted it before. Do you need to see it again?
This stat doesn't say what you think it says. Defensive rating doesn't isolate a player from their team mates, so using it for individual defense is literally meaningless. The Rockets, when normalizing team mates, do not have a single + defender on the perimeter in the starting lineup. https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/nba-player-ratings/?player=Nikola Jokic&season=2023
Sengun is elite at everything and it’s everyone else’s fault. It’s crazy bc I’ve always been able to be honest about my favorite players. Thinking Sengun is even decent defensively is like saying shaq was a decent free throw shooter
Imagine comparing Mike Conley who has been selected to all defensive second team to KPJ to push your agenda. The Jazz had 10x better perimeter defense than the Rockets have right now. Even Mitchell is way better perimeter defender than KJ and KPJ combined.
This team has been hard to judge. Watching Sengun dominate earlier this year made me hopeful he could be a franchise guy. After really sitting back and watching the season unfold there is one thing that keeps popping up. He isn't quick enough to stay in front of guards on the perimeter and he isn't big enough to effect shots on the inside. Due to that, it feels like a guy you may have to move for value if you can get it. Feels very Enes Kanter like who was a good offensive player early, but was a major liability defensively. Things can change as he is still so young, but I just don't know.
Wow, I have been busy and have not had time to be on here much the last few weeks. I come back and see a LOT happened. I am not sure what @hakeem94 said to finally get banned but he/she (?) did push the limit with the racial stuff a few times.
