It's not natural when nature is freaky. That sense of freakiness allows attacks on the trans community, as it did on the homosexual community.

Lia Thomas is compelling because the way many have portrayed her as though she’s breaking records left and right. She’s a good not great female swimmer. It was Loking at her actual record that changed my opinion regarding trans athletes.

She doesn’t represent a major threat to female athletics and given how few actual trans people there are trans athletes are still mostly an outlier.

So agree / the argument that well it's not widespread so it's ok naw completely irrelevant- we try to champion women's rights and then do technical backhands to effectively rationalize men beating women

So you can’t actually quantify that even any bad male athletes are transitioning just so they can do better in sports.

Do you extend that attitude to other issues regarding women? Do you support equal pay and addressing the glass ceiling for women?

First, she isn’t a female. She is a woman, at least unless we are going to change science to fit a social construct.

As far as Thomas, she went from a middling male collegiate swimmer to the NCAA Division I Champion in the 500 free style. That is a massive improvement and that is far from just being a “good” swimmer.

I respect you, I just don’t see how you cannot see how Thomas had a massive advantage.

Tesosterone is a banned as well as pure PED for a reason. Your body after years of testosterone is something that can’t be measured with “acceptable ranges of testosterone” at a snap shot in time

It's not my job to draw a line, but one thing that I don't feel is fair is the sports arena. If a male who identifies as a female decides to play sports and joins the female team IMO that person has an unfair advantage and if I had a daughter, I would not be in favor of allowing that.

Nobody in this thread ever said this is the "center of American political discourse". It's just a topic of discussion. You really should stop putting words in other people's mouths.

...and now that there's been a school shooting by a trans person, maybe you'll snap out of your smug ignorance and realize that this is an important topic that is worthy of discussion... Then again, maybe not, considering how closed-minded and self-righteous you are.

Lol cis white males disproportionately over represent school shooter demographics.

Why have you never posted about having a sincere discussion about what is happening to our white cis teenage boys?

    yeah ‘art history dropouts’

    https://nypost.com/2023/03/28/nashville-school-shooting-live-news-updates/

In an interview shortly after the shooting, an anonymous friend said the former art student also had “high-functioning” autism.

Hale, who was previously a student at The Covenant School, was shot dead by police at 10:27 a.m. on Monday. Officials say she had been carefully planned the massacre, and possibly planned to target other sites, as well.

My daughter literally works one block from where that happened. She was at work during the time.- quite scary - and it's a good area too
Got to give a credit to Nashville PD they did not wait to enclose a barrier. They immediately went in to where the shots were fired and that's why there was the few innocence that were unfortunately killed, but it could've been much more. They rushed in thank goodness
