There is a choice. Trade down for 2024 1st Round Picks. Pick up generational talent that is not a QB. I'd love to trade down and still pick up Anderson and maybe even Carter falls to 12. Then maybe Nolen Smith is on the board at 33. If not, perhaps trade with Chicago for it's 2 number ones in 2024. We could control the draft in 2024 with 5 first round picks and 1 might be the first round pick without having to overpay leaving us with top notch prospects on rookie contracts..

If you can come out of the first round with Anderson and a big upgrade over Davis Mills, you can call it a win win.
Texans may not pick in the first ten in '24 so to move up to #1 will come at a high price - if the team picking #1 even wants to trade - they may have designs on the top QB as well and simply refuse to budge.
The next guys could just as easily be busts as well.

This really comes down to do you like this QB class more than the 2024 QB class. Or do you want instant gratification rather than building the team out for your best chance at long term success like the Stros did.

There are 3 QB's I like better than the QB's in this years draft. How many games do you think the team wins next year. I'm thinking in the 6-7 range which means they should be picking in the 10-13 range. With three 1sts they should be able to trade up and get one of the three QB's and this is a worst case scenario.

Like I said, this really comes down to how you feel about the 2023 QB class vs the 2024 QB class. If done right this team could be setup to become true contenders for the next decade. If done wrong there will be a lot of coulld've/should've would've's going on down on Kirby.

that all sounds good but the other team would have to be on board to trade up with us, not sure Chicago would do it but I would like that

I get that you don't like any of the guys in this year's draft but any of them could turn out to be franchise QBs in the right system.
On top of that, it doesn't cost you any extra draft capital to get one.
    It's worth a shot.

From someone who doesn't watch College football (you), how would you know what QBs are good>?

So, you give up atleast 2 1st round players.....that could have been on your team, to get a QB you could have gotten the previous draft. LOL.

There is no "generational talent" in this draft. Anderson is not, Carter is not. Nolan Smith could be great. Take the QB.

Just because you like next years crop more than this one doesn’t mean we just want instant gratification rather than building up.
Im fine with us having different opinions. Not you belittling us as children who need instant gratification like we don’t know what it takes to build a team.
Building the rest of the team instead of getting a qb is what we’ve done for 20 years.. it leads to mediocrity which I guess is what you strive for.

Where did you get the idea that I dont watch college football?

I've seen plenty of all 5 of these QB's and Bennett over the last couple of years. I also have seen a lot of Williams/Maye/McCarthy and like them as much or more than any QB in this draft. Nix has surprised by how well he's played since he moved to Oregon. BTW, this is the best TE class in a decade. IMHO. I dont watch college football, my wife would beg to differ with you. LMAO

I apologize if you took my post like I was talking down to you. I certainly didn't mean to belittle anybody and in fact I dont like people who talk down to others.

I disagree with the not building a team 1st statement. Carr would be an example. Trading for Schaub before the team was built out was another. The Hoyer/Mallett/Os years, what you're saying is true. But that only happened because the GM wouldn't draft a QB and the GM/HC weren't on the same page. The only reason the GM drafted Watson was because ownership mandated picking a QB. The team certainly wasn't built out when Watson was drafted. Hence the Browns having a top 5 pick the year after Watson was drafted.

You forgot to add Roethlisberger. Oh yeah, my bad. He's a low character championship winning QB.

He came from a solid background and became a turd.

BTW, I dont think he raped the 2nd girl. He had hired security standing at the bathroom door. Also she was wearing a Down to Fvck T-Shirt. There's a reason no charges were filed.

Roethlisberger actually turned his life around and has been an upstanding citizen for many years. Big Ben was always very intelligent, which is a differentiator for him versus someone like a Deshaun Watson for instance.

Lol DW4 is a 4.0 GPA, love that you want to say one is x and the other is not.

But nice try. You’re going to need time to compare apples to apples with the outcomes you just projected.

Watson torched our franchise with idiotic decision-making on multiple fronts. There is no winning argument that says he's intelligent. I'm sorry my friend.

Ben stopped assaulting women in public and had a hamburger named after him -- that's not turning your life around.
