"Tolerance" by trans activists (biological men hitting women). About as "tolerant" of other viewpoints and as respectful of the rights of actual women as some of the posters here in the D&Dy
Sounds like testosterone level is a good enough line to apply universally. I’m sure that’s still not fair but sports is inherently unfair since it’s not all about hard work. Like many things in life, some are gifted from birth with advantages.
No, I don’t mean sex organs but I can see why you would think that based on the subject matter. I mean they have the size and frame of males and they have the same when it comes to other organs in the body. Yes, they need to keep doing research but we are already seeing efforts to control the research and results. A well established scientist recently had funding pulled because he used the terms “male” and “female” for sex and “man” and “woman” for gender. Which is absurd. I don’t see how you don’t find Thomas compelling, she is a vastly more successful female swimmer than she was as a male. She is also a collegiate champion.
Are you saying that trans individuals have a unique range of testosterone levels? I doubt they do. I don't know how much natural testosterone levels correlate with performance, but if they do, why not have divisions based on testosterone levels? We already have separate divisions based on body measurements for some individual sports (weightlifting, boxing, etc.). Adding testosterone to that list seems like a good idea if it maps well. Instead of having separate divisions for men, women, trans, and others, we could base it on testosterone level. If it doesn't correlate well or we just don't know yet, then never mind.
I thought you were saying females would just have to compete with trans women even if it is inherently not fair. I don’t doubt that testosterone plays a large part in establishing an unfair advantage. In the 800 for example, the top 3 finishers that were in the inaccurate tweet all grew up with and went through puberty with elevated testosterone levels. The issue with testosterone is that the advantage likely doesn’t completely go away when you suppress testosterone as adults, because the frame and muscle built largely remain. The easiest way to do it would to be to have trans divisions. However I also understand that trans women do not want people to view them as trans women, but, rather just women. I don’t have an issue with this in 99% percent of the time. I do have a problem when it hurts biological females, such as competition and the other instance is medical records.
All three medalists were born with an intersex condition. That is not "their fault" and I understand it is a difficult case, but they all had an inherent advantage versus the woman who placed 4th. If they are intersex, why don't they start in the men's competition, or have their own? https://www.insidethegames.biz/articles/1126952/tabitha-gichia-wambui-banned-by-aiu https://www.bbc.com/sport/africa/57239439
They do. https://www.transathlete.com/olympics https://www.npr.org/2023/03/24/1165...s-cant-compete-in-womens-international-events https://www.si.com/olympics/2022/03/23/transgender-athletes-testosterone-policies-ioc-framework
It's funny that yall constantly compare school vs athletics. It's pretty obvious that yall just don't like certain things.
Semenya was born and raised female and even took a gender verification test to keep her medals. It sounds ironic for you to propose she start in the men's competition. I mean no. 4 is way more photogenic and feminine looking. If she were missing or fell in a well, there would be a requisite swarm of reporters waiting to post the latest scoop. The issue with intersex condition is that there's more biological basis to add more genders or at least quantitatively attempt to add more definition towards classification. A big problem with the current trans debate is that people want to sell gender identity as a "mental feeling" when one would expect more rigor and explaination for these cases. It seems to riff a lot of things from the homosexual acceptance playbook but it's an entirely different and even more complex topic, With the current 2 gender mindset, it seems much harder to argue restrictions against athletes born with female genitals but with a higher testosterone count to compete in non-women leagues.
Nobody should be allowed to compete in athletics outside of their pubescent gender. It's not all that complicated.
The biggest threat according the trans deceptions is Harry Potter the video game @AroundTheWorld woke lunatics got stomped by gamers
Yeah, that makes sense. In that case, my view as an amateur on this topic would be that trans women can participate in non-professional sports however they choose. However, in professional sports, they should not compete against women due to their biological advantages. It wouldn't be fair to the female competitors.
