And the kid that passed in that video happened in 2014, the graphic used in the video says "since 2015" and cardiac arrest has been a leading cause of young athlete deaths since before 2017. All before the Vaccine. Just. Stop. Already.

Like I said in another thread..the UIL began requiring schools to have defibrillators after 4 kids died during practice in 3 weeks..BACK IN 2006. And the Texas Legislature made it a law IN 2007. And before you say no that didn't happen or it's 'fake news' - I worked in Sports broadcasting back in the 2000's. Half my job dealt specifically with the old High School Xtra TV show on Fox sports - I literally edited feature packages about the law before it was passed.

This has been happening all along..it's just that antivaxxers didn't care enough about it to notice until they could use it to further their agenda.

Life is a box of chocolates
I see nothing as GOOD or BAD just different

The Resolution to some of these will be very unappealing to dinosaurs like myself
    but It is the future
Once they perfect the sex bot . . . . I think Relationships will be purely platonic and probably not even in person
(we may even be having sex THROUGH SEX BOTS in the META MATRIX)

I too think the Nuclear Family is dead
Esp with women not being hit with these Child Support and Alimony cases
Higher earning women are now as Cautious as higher earning men . . .. honestly probably more so

Other than sex . . . what can you get from the opposite sex that you don't get from your friends
Companionship comversation and intellectual stimulation . . .

So once the sexual need/appetite is able to met without another human . . . . it's a wrap

CNN had a piece on this the other day that largely had the same conclusions. I’ll see if I can find it and post it.

As someone who coaches young men and women I do see some hope in my own students. There are young people who don’t just bury themselves in video games and social media but also are willing to work hard to improve themselves. Martial arts though is a very self selected group but I do think that as older parents, teachers, coaches and mentors we need to help younger people. Part of that is helping them understand that things aren’t always easy and much of what you see in social media isn’t real. Also life isn’t about one thing. Sure it might seem like others are making more money, having more sex and etc.. Value in life isn’t just about those things. Also anything of value requires real effort.

This message isn’t also just for teenagers but I know several middle aged people who also feel isolated and depressed and not leading the life they hoped. I’ll admit I feel that way sometime too.

Just watching videos of other people who seem to be living a better life than you doesn’t help. Getting out and doing what you can to lead a better life does.

Without US society's somewhat invisible "christo-traditionalist" hand putting everyone in their "proper order" things change. I think you hit the nail on the head in regards to the issue stemming from men.

US women never had more choice or more power....

I think because most of this site is men we tend to focus in problems with young men and boys but young women also have problems these days. There was a recent case of a teenage girl who killed herself after having real life bullying magnified with cyber bullying. They too are also dealing with expectations formed by social media that their own lives don’t match.

No doubt, but I think they are fundamentally different issues.

Lots of changes are required to address this but an easy one would be to raise the minimum age for social media to 18. Seems awful that teens have to deal with that during their most challenging years in terms of growth. I actually think something like AOL Instant Messenger had real social costs for teenagers but that's absolutely miniscule compared to social media.

Someone posted the TICTOC Trend of people looking at themselves using the Youth Filter
and crying in regret that they "let their younger selves down"

It is incredibly ridiculous to me . . . I GET REGRET!! We all have it
but d*mmit . . .do something different beyond crying on a TikTok video

I think TOO TOO MANY people in our society have a high level of feelings of helplessness and hopelessness
The most major issue is that its all in their heads
Older generation are held prisoner by tradition . . . releasing it will help them better
The Younger Generation have analysis paralysis .. .they have too many options and have divorced themselves from Traditions that may have guided them

When my old students visit me or I go to their graduations and talk with them they tell me they don't drive and that they don't work. We don't talk about it, but I would be surprised if they haven't drank or smoked pot. Most of them are Hispanic boys and drinking is a thing with Hispanic men. And we all know pot smoking is rarely considered unacceptable anymore. Dunno about going out on dates. Not sure what they even mean by that. But their attitudes on marriage is usually poor. And for me, if a boy doesn't have designs of starting a family, why do things like drive, date, and work? Those are things that prepare them for being a family man.

A YouTuber admitted he lied to investigators about intentionally crashing a plane to boost views for a sponsorship deal video, the Justice Department said Thursday.

Trevor Jacob agreed to plead “guilty to one count of destruction and concealment with the intent to obstruct a federal investigation,” according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California. The crime carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.

Jacob’s pilot license has also been revoked.

The video in question, titled “I Crashed My Airplane,” was uploaded to Jacob’s YouTube channel on Dec. 24, 2021, and included a sponsorship from a company that sells wallets. As of Friday, the video had been viewed more than 3 million times, and the channel had some 138,000 subscribers.

The video in question is nearly 13 minutes long, and opens with Jacob flying a small aircraft equipped with multiple cameras. Less than two minutes into the clip, the plane appears to suffer some kind of mechanical failure over California’s Los Padres National Forest, and Jacob jumps out and deploys a parachute. The plane crashes, unmanned. Jacob makes it to the ground and shows viewers some cuts he sustained. “I’m just so happy to be alive,” he says.

According to the U.S. attorney’s office, Jacob later told authorities he never intended to land the single-engine airplane, which he boarded and operated alone from Lompoc City Airport in November 2021. He had attached several cameras to the aircraft, packed a parachute and a selfie stick, and allegedly planned all along to film himself jumping from the plane and get footage of the crash.

The 29-year-old YouTuber carried out his plan and notified authorities two days later about the purported accident, federal prosecutors say.

Jacob had originally lied to investigators from the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration that he couldn’t locate the wreckage, according to Thursday’s press release. In reality, Jacob and a friend allegedly picked up the wreckage on Dec. 10, 2021, via helicopter, took it to a trailer at Rancho Sisquoc in Santa Barbara County, then drove it to Lompoc City Airport, where they stored it in a hangar. Later, Jacob allegedly destroyed the wreckage and discarded the pieces in multiple trash bins.

Jacob falsely told investigators that the plane lost power 35 minutes into the flight, according to the U.S. attorney’s office, and told an FAA inspector the engine malfunctioned.

He is expected to appear in court later this month.
