I'd rather give a prospect looks than trade for help with marginal upside at best.

I used to make a living producing legal instruments, so legal pads were convenient until you ran into a copy machine that was set for 8 1/2 x 11.

But they used to sell books of pre printed scoring sheets which never left enough room for details.

I miss the days of Houston being a 2 newspaper town. Journalism has really suffered since the Post went out of business.

Maybe since Kemp has played like an All Star against the Astros the way Toro has you have the sense Kemp is that much better than Dubon. Give Dubon 500 at bats the way the last place A's do for a less than mediocre Kemp and he'll give you 90% of the production Kemp gives you.

Growing up we were Chron subscribers, one day we visited my cousins and they were Post subscribers, and my mind was BLOWN when I saw that the Post had some different comics in the funny pages than the Chronicle had. Specifically I remember the "Marvin" comic strip wasn't in the Chron at the time.

Hensley should be fine holding down the fort at 2b until Altuve returns. No need to panic. Dubon is going to make this team as the backup SS/2B for sure now that Altuve is out.

I fear Dusty is going to play Dubon way more than Hensley at 2B. I wish we could have playoff Dusty for 162 games, but it ain’t happening

It really looks like the front office these past three years basically let Dusty run the ship during the regular season (i.e., not worth minimal gains against inferior competition), but provided more input in the postseason. Starting Meyers that one game in the postseason really looks like a Click move.

I really just don’t know. He seems to have confidence in Hensley and played him in the playoffs last year. I do share your concern that Dubon gets to many starts at 2b. If Dirden makes the team I don’t think he sees much time in Center, but he will definitely play SS when Pena gets a rest. Dusty loves him some defense, so I’m guessing when Framber starts he will start at 2b.

No one tell Dusty that the rules preventing players from switching sides of the IF in the middle of inning does not apply if there is a susbstition (e.g., an injury). No way Dusty plays Dubon at 2B if he thinks Dubon can't switch to SS if Pena gets hurt.

How do justify putting Meyers on the opening roster and not Dirden. Dirden has total outplayed Meyers for the entire spring training. His minor league stats have been better also.

Major League roster decisions should not be based solely on <50 spring training plate appearances.

Meyers should be traded for help in other areas. Dirden has earned his shot.

As for Mauricio Dubon ugh he gotta go.
Sorry his defense doesn't mean he is the best ever with out batting.
To add on we have viable options that may play better. And there is a decent player on the market in Chad Pinder
