To be clear, the Summit is an annual event put on by Out and Equal, and this year (and 2024 also) will be held at Disney. I wouldn't be surprised if Disney gave them a sweetheart deal, but Disney did not go through the trouble of organizing a whole conference just to thumb their noses as DeSantis -- they just agreed to be host to an existing conference (which is something they do all the time).

 

The big question was all the diversity and inclusion entertainment that was demanded this audience actually watched by them and if merchandise was purchased by them

Ant man and the wasp failing was the last straw in successive failures- to the point where ideas and feelings matter less and the bottom line is starting to matter .....so thank Goodness for that thank Goodness they are cutting 4000 jobs- maybe they will now realize they are a business for quality entertainment and not a business for ideas and feelings catered to an ideology- at the end of the day my clients don't care if I'm going to vote for DeSantis they care if I can have their yard looking great at a price that they agree with -that's the bottom line- that's business and f.uck your feelings

 

This is exactly why Disney is laying off thousands of workers because people REALLY DON'T CARE about the products and shows aimed toward that audience.

So then why should DeSantis or anyone care as long as they put out a good product? Why is DeSantis also punishing the Tampa Bay Rays when they’ve been a good baseball team
For years including playing in a recent World Series?

In other words what does it matter about wokeness if the product is good? Why shouldn’t people just say “f*uck your feelings” if you don’t like wokeness as long as they can deliver a good product.

For example The Last of Us has gay characters including a gay love story and that show is doing very well. Modern Family was very woke and wildly successful.

 

Modern family is not a remake
It has original characters
it’s not like they made leave it to beaver with trans black people

Like @tinman stated quite eloquently and I think we repeated this numerous times it's about original content - Disney seems absolutely insistent on rearranging content, and it comes across as simply lazy writing with no inspiration or effort - it's simply if you can put in good content you don't need to rearrange something- be the innovator !

I am addressing Disney. I'm not talking about baseball or other film companies but what's happening is without a doubt complete devastation we're talking about thousands of jobs being lost and a lot of it is because they have failed -

People are not going to see bad content - I keep using a business analogy because that's what I do but I honestly don't care what my consumers political feelings are- I care about what is quality and what is going to achieve a proper business transaction that is profitable that is how Disney should approach things
