2. Houston Texans: Bryce Young, QB, Alabama Young checked the box by weighing in at 204 pounds at the combine, even if he won’t play at that weight. Despite his outlier size, Young is my top-ranked quarterback in this class. The true junior is always composed, processes information quickly and is accurate to all three levels. His ability to make plays outside of structure stands out, and he elevates the play of those around him. 12. Houston Texans (via CLE): Lukas Van Ness, edge, Iowa “Hercules” has inside-outside versatility, and, after primarily aligning inside in 2021, he was primarily an edge defender this past season. Van Ness can win with his blend of power, length and relentless effort, but his athleticism was on full display at the combine, where he ran a 4.58 40-yard dash at 272 pounds. Van Ness has a total of 19.5 TFLs and 13.5 sacks over the past two seasons. His best football is ahead of him.
I still like the idea of Skoronski moving to G or even C if he's still there at 12. I'm sure it's because I'm from the old school when the best OL were always found at OT and then OG and C were the fellows that didn't cut it at OT. But he appears to have exactly what is needed to be a perennial All Pro at C if he has the skills to snap.
Another Crazy position switch idea. McKee at 104 and switch him to TE. If he can make the transition due to his size and jumping ability and would open up some razzle Dazzle possibilities usually reserved for WRs.
Am I off to think CJ had a better pro day then Bryce? I know it doesn’t mean much… but interesting discussion nonetheless.
You are so damn defensive for your man crush, relax man. There’s tape on every other big prospect and they do athletic testing too. Edit* last part was inappropriate
Boys, boys let’s settle. Haha end goal is the same. Looks like none of the top 3 QBs ran 40s this year. It’s weird but I’ll take game tape over athletic testing - especially verify the likes of Nolan Smith and his potential aligns with the insane awesome athletic ability
