This is a really tough blow for them. Re-evaluated in 2-3 weeks doesn't need to mean he'll be playing then. He's actually their most reliable player with Kawhi and his load management issues and Westbrook being, well, Westbrook. Looking like it could be rough for them the rest of the way. I don't wish any player injury but this certainly doesn't hurt t he Rockets.
That's like saying, uh, Steve Perry isn't perfect, but as a singer he was better than Sylvester Stallone (see "Rhinestone", or, better yet, don't see it, even if it's available in any format).
The crazy thing right now is even beyond what OKC and the Clippers do, there's only about 3 games separating the #9 spot from the #19 spot with 9-11 games left in the season for teams, and a lot of them play one another towards the end of the season, of course. It's going to be hell following this as the season winds down, and that doesn't even include ties that may need to be broken at the end.
I just want to say, if this had happened to Michael Jordan there's no way he wouldn't be out there playing. Paul George is a pu$$y. This generation of basketball players. . .SMDH. J/K
Seems likely that we'll be looking at somewhere between #10 and #17 at this point, looking at the standings. Hard to see how the Clippers don't slide. Some of those teams around .500 clearly have a higher talent level than a Georgeless Clippers, and OKC has been hot but is still very young. That's a really good range to be in. It's less likely than being inside the top 10, but a lot of superstars have been found in the middle of the first round, especially in deep drafts like this one. I think it also improves the odds that we'll be able to trade the pick up into the top 10 with a team like the Lakers (who own New Orleans' pick) who are stuck in 100% win-now mode.
Basically we should be rooting for OKC and LAC to land in the play in, and lose. I don’t think either team would be favored against the competition: GSW, Dallas with Luka and Kyrie, and Minny with Ant, Gobert, and healthy KAT. Then we’ve got ourselves a lottery pick.
To be fair, it's a knee sprain on the same leg that the "pu$$y" broke in half years ago; maybe some injuries aren't the same....? (I think it was the same leg.)
It's definitely the same leg. Must be some mental trauma for the poor guy. Hope he recovers fully - he has been playing some great basketball. ((Selfishly, hope his full recovery enables him to play again next season!))
I mean I hope he's back on the court for the playoffs and they manage to just barely squeak in and go deep for Eric Gordon's sake, leaving us with a nice #15 draft pick and no chance of losing it to them winning the lottery. That outcome would be just fine by me.
It ain't meant to be for the city of LA this season yet again. **** LA. Nets and Clippers both failed super teams and LAbron couldn't capitalize on a wide open league. If you would have painted a mental picture of the NBA landscape in it's current state to me last summer, i would have bet my life LAL would pull off some incredible fleece to become the title favorite. Instead PHX and Dallas pull off wild trades that seem to have backfired on both of them as well. I'm amazed at how weird this season has been. This really is the 70s NBA modernized with video game offensive numbers and low earnings teams like the Bullets, Sonics, Suns, Blazers, Spurs of old, Nuggets, Cavs and Warriors of old contended for a title. Oh well, it's the only time the NYK could ever win so maybe they pull something off this year? Even the storied Celtics won one in that decade with a such a weird duo of Hondo and a dominant Cowens. The aging super team Lakers were still there early in the decade like the current Warriors, both winning in the 2nd year of the decade before falling off-but Lakers pull of the Kareem trade mid season so does GS pull something off after their window closes? Such a bizarre decade and we're only 3 years into this decade which started with a Mickey Mouse ring in a bubble that is SRS rated as the 3rd easiest championship ever won(LAL has the top 3 easiest-Our 95 Rockets has the #1 most difficult championship ever won), followed by the defending champ missing the playoffs.
