Some interesting points to gather from what our new OC and DC said. If you think of the 4 QBs in question, "Fast, physical and tough" describes 2 of them. If we look at RB, Pierce is physical and tough, but not particularly fast. Maybe we target some more speed at RB in the draft. When you look at WR/TE we definitely need some new additions there to pump up those positions. Excited to see what Slowik develops with our offense. Burke's comments about the scheme they run isn't being played by many teams, makes me think we'll sign a few 49ers FAs and maybe a Cardinal. Also, might see us draft guys in spots they're currently not projected. I'm fine with this because Coach Ryans should have a clear runway to draft and build team as he sees fit for the foreseeable future. "Aggressive and not reactionary" and building the line are welcomed news for my ears. Could see a DL taken at #12 or #33 depending on who's there. Likely another 1-2 guys taken with later picks. Appreciate you guys posting the above, I've had a crazy week and haven't had much time to listen to videos.
You can feel it with the fanbase too. Last year's offseason thread had like 50+ pages. Right now the offseason thread is at 126pages with 2 months to go. I think almost everyone is back in the fold.
You are such a little sissy. If you want to be thread police apply for a moderator position. Instead you want to hand-wring passive aggressively over people discussing anything you deem impertinent.
It’s inevitable, it’s just a matter of time. Same with the offensive coordinator. It’s the same cycle every year. Texans fans are excited about the new OC, then they turn on them by mid season. It happened with Kubiak, Obrien, Godsey, Kelly, Pep Hamilton. It will be no different with slowic.
We have some nice pieces on the O-line but no playmakers on offense. I do like what we are building on defense, but it may take time for chemistry to develop. ANY rookie QB will struggle throughout his first season. I expect a lot of inconsistent play with some flashes of brilliance and some prolonged stretches of incompetence. DeMeco's halo will disintegrate -- it's just a question of how long it takes. QB play makes coaches look really smart or really dumb. Stroud's first game was a disaster... hoping he can improve but he has a long way to go.
TJ - I have to disagree on "no playmakers" on offense. Tank Dell can be special if he stays healthy, Pierce showed us he can be 1K runner and Dalton will likely be a "go to" target for our QB. While none of these guys are big names, I think in our offense they can be difference makers for our team.
I don't think our skill position group beats out very many teams in the NFL. Probably at the bottom, tbh. And we definitely don't have any game-breaking talents like a Justin Jefferson, Jamarr Chase, Christian McCaffrey, Cooper Kupp, Tyreek Hill, Nick Chubb.
