The Bears GM claims that he could get the #2 pick in the 2023 draft and the Texans 2024 first rounder for the #1 pick this year..... The Bears would then have traded the #2 pick to Carolina for more picks. If the Texans never agreed to give up #2 and their first in 2024, I don't think that Poles really should be discussing this.... it isn't like this is a deal executed years ago. If I am Caserio, I would probably let it be known I never agreed to package the 2024 first rounder in a trade. "Bears General Manager Ryan Poles traded down from the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft to the ninth overall pick, and he’s pleased with what he got in return. But he was considering a more complex scenario that might have given the Bears an even greater return. Poles told Peter King in Football Morning in America that he was considering the possibility of moving down just one spot in a trade with the Texans, getting the No. 2 overall pick this year and the Texans’ first-round pick next year, and then trading down again to No. 9 with the Panthers. But Poles said he ultimately decided that the time immediately following the Scouting Combine was the right time to execute a trade to a team that had fallen in love with one of the quarterbacks in the draft. “I thought there was an opportunity to do something historically pretty cool with a trade from one to two and two to nine,” Poles said. “That had potential to add more draft capital this year, and then the possibility that you’re sitting on three ones in the following year. That had my attention. But my gut told me to trigger on it now. Poles said he and Panthers General Manager Scott Fitterer engaged in thoughtful negotiations, and when the Panthers agreed to include wide receiver D.J. Moore along with the No. 9 and No. 61 overall picks, a 2024 first-round pick and a 2025 second-round pick, Poles decided not to wait and risk the deal falling apart. “Scott and I have a pretty good relationship, being around each other on the road,” Poles said. “I think that played a big part of it. And trust. He wanted to get it done. He was clear with his intentions.”
Shocking reply and yes he knows the Dr. That did Metchie/Williams ACL. Apparently you don't know the meaning of words well connected or renowned.
12. Jordan Addison, WR, USC The Texans pick a wide receiver — Jordan Addison (scouting report) — to go along with their new quarterback in Young. After winning the Biletnikoff Award in 2021 while at Pittsburgh, Addison transferred to USC and had a strong 2022 season in the PAC-12. Young and Addison can grow together in this new Houston offense.
So since he knows about their ACLs he automatically knows about Young’s shoulder? Never heard an ethical doctor comment on a specific person’s diagnosis without examining that person. You seem to be in awe of this so-called well connected renowned person. Good for you. I will wait for the Texans medical staff to issue their report.
Yeah plus he would’ve had to access the records irrespective of how well connected or renowned he is.
If that deal was there the Bears would have taken it. This might have been what the Bears wanted, but if the Texans had agreed they would’ve jumped all over it and yes trade the no.2 for even more. I really wanted the Texans to make a trade with Carolina or Atlanta. Atlanta’s 1st round pick next year is probably going to be better than the Texans and Clevelands.
Poles should be fired if Texans offered 2024 1st & 2nd for 1st overall and he didn't take it Also Nick C. should be fired if he offered it
I don’t understand why teams don’t send reps to every pro day. Seems like a really cost effective way to find some hidden gems. I guess we would rather spend millions on psychos like Easterby than a few thousands on plane trips and hotel rooms.
