The TV revenue/viewer numbers are interesting, especially how inconsistent the totals and ratio is from team to team. Astros pull in $123M/yr less in TV money than the Dodgers yet receive no revenue sharing from MLB. Only 9 teams generate more than 1,000 viewers/game for every $1M/yr in rights fees (Astros are one of them). It’s all moot because by the time Houston’s TV deal is up MLB will very likely have moved to broadcasting its own games, but if the old model still exists when Houston’s rights are up for negotiation, they should be able to secure $100M/yr more (assuming they’re still good).
I'm surprised the ring design hasn't been released yet. Hopefully they add a we want Houston on it somehow.
Since the first game is exclusively on ESPN... I presume they will not be broadcasting any of the banner unveiling or any of the pre-game festivities. Does anybody know if ATT will be showing just those events pre-game? Kinda sucks if its not going to be seen anywhere (except for those people actually at the stadium).
I wonder if they will restock jerseys online, only the Altuve and Bregman authentic gold jerseys are available.
