Can't believe people are talking themselves into development at this stage in the game. So unbelievably stupid.
It’s good to see these guys get some positive experience. It’s not like it’s Eric Gordon and Boban leading the wins. I’ll take it.
I was talking about the winning streak. Jabari is putting up numbers and the team is winning, it’s simple. I like KJ, Tari, too, we do look better with them. These four: Bari, Tari, Alpe and KJ I consider serious NBA material. KPJ and Green have talents and skill, but they give me this AAU-ball vibe. We never look like an NBA team when they dominate the ball. they have a role of course, with that talent, but that role should be much smaller for this team to be competitive
Rockets “fans” preferring tanking over developing our culture will always confuse me. If you wanna live in perpetual mediocrity go cheer for the Knicks.
One of the times I agree. They champagne shower themselves as if they have won the Larry O'Brien trophy.
Why? It's a bunch of D1 aged kids beating 3 NBA teams in a row dude. Let them be happy for **** sakes.
It only means anything if they open the next season with a hefty win streak. It's the offseason for them, of course they can party. It really doesn't mean that much but yeah I can see why they did it. While Mike Brown is telling the Kings who have never won that much before to hold themselves accountable at all times, also during close wins that they could have lost.
Confusing statement. Should we be focused on not developing? Do you actively want to bench our best players to see the tank through? Just curious. This growth seems organic. What would you be doing as GM/HC right now?
Overly simplified statement. We can root for losses through the end of the year without being in favor of perpetual mediocrity. Next year our pick will have a better than 50% chance of belonging to OKC. So next year I am all for winning at all costs. This season, however, we have suffered too much to screw it up in the last 20 games. Stay the friggin' course and maximize our assets for all the suffering we've done. I don't see what's so hard to understand about that.
Tanking is actually the opposite of what the Knicks do. They are perpetually going for it with no assets. And, the Rockets aren't mediocre, they're far worse, they're terrible. Pro tankers want the rockets to remain terrible through the end of this season to get the best possible odds for the draft. Tanking is actually about avoiding mediocrity by strategically being bad enough to get top tier talent in the draft then growing that talent to be a good team. Throwing a bunch of vets together and eeking out wins against depleted rosters with no chance of contending is a Knicks staple.
It's really not complicated. Perhaps they have forgotten the one meaningless win that cost us Brandon Roy. But ATLEAST WE DEVELOPED.
Culture rots quick in the NBA. I’d rather develop the culture and potential of the guys we already have as opposed to tanking their confidence.
Chill man we are going to be in the top 3 and that's all that matters. You really don't understand the draft probabilities do you?
I wouldn't. Culture also changes quickly with the addition/subtraction of key players. And I expect we'll be both adding and removing players next year.
No, it is complicated, at least more complicated than you're professing. Pre-2014, the lottery odds were massively different and only determined the top 3 spots. Nowadays, that has changed. "One meaningless win" will not automatically drop us from 6 to 8 like in your scenario, and it will not impact the main odds implicated in this draft: chances at a top 3 pick.
