Is Profar still available or did he sign somewhere? I don't want to watch Dubon play 2B and lead off every day
I thought the transition was quite smooth He comes up for a cup of coffee in 18 and struggles mightily, finally gets going in the second half of 19, gets significant PT in 2020 and takes over in 2021. Reddick was pretty solid (based on prior history) in 2019. And was being phased out in 2020 with the emergence of Tucker.
That would actually be a really good signing. Profar and Hensley could probably do a good enough job of providing roughly 80% of Altuve’s production while he’s out (assuming he’s out for a while).
Profar is still out there. He played pretty well in the WBC for Team Netherlands and would be a good pick up with Altuve probably out. Last I heard he was demanding a lot though.
Good! Team need a little adversity for this new year. World Series 2023 champs confirmed. Altuve returns June 6th and never looks back. WS MVP
The last time Profar played 2B somewhat fulltime (2019), he had -20 DRS, -7 OAA, and -5 RAA. Since then, he has accumulated -6 DRS in under 200 innings. In other words, you do not want to see Profar playing 2B either. According to everything I have read, he is LF only at this point
All true I’ll take him over Dubon any day Of course if Yordan ain’t ready for the season Dubon will be getting some CF with Chas in Left or DH
Opening day defending the title Dubon 2b Peña ss Bregman 3B Abreu 1B Tucker RF McCormick LF Meyers CF Diaz DH Maldanado C
No reason Hensley shouldn't be given the shot as the everyday 2B if Altuve misses some time. Dubon for better or worse is a known quantity, the odds Hensley is noticeably worse are slim, and he provides significant upside for this season and beyond. Hopefully Browns relationship with Dusty will prevent some of the more egregious " I make the lineup card" we've seen from Dusty in the last few regular seasons.
Dubon is only good for sparse starts...not starting at a position for multiple games in a row. If Altuve is out for 4-8 weeks, Dubon should only start for a total of 1-2 weeks worth of games. Hopefully, the injury isn't as bad as it sounds for Altuve.
Yall need to all shut the **** up about Dubon 26th man on the roster. Give it a month or a bit longer
I doubt we make any significant moves, but one would have to think a move of some kind is coming to add a competent infield option. C Maldy 1B Abreu 2B Hensley SS Pena 3B Bregman LF Yordan (maybe) CF Chaz RF Tucker C Lee/Diaz IF Dubon OF Meyers OF Brantley/Dirden That leaves a spot open, another OF seems superfluous. The only other infielders on the roster are Rylan Bannon and Matijevic who is pretty much only a 1B option. I have to imagine Bannon was brought on to be emergency AAA infield depth, not a full time part of the roster.
