And I would put the same question to Vivek Ramaswamy.

What level of criminality should be tolerated by an ex President?

I have zero sympathy for people who scream and shout repeatedly for law and order then bemoan when they’re held accountable. Among my least favorite people on the planet and I like pretty much everyone lol.

Also the Trump Org already being indicted is essentially already indictment #1 for Trump. Like… you are already a criminal. It’s 100% his company and he directs all of the activity at virtually every level. I don’t know why much of anything would change with the NYDA Stormy charges unless there’s something we don’t know about yet in the indictment.

It changes little about his nomination although ALL of this (Trump org included) continues to hurt his general election chances.

Unless he gets banned from running, I'm not sure this is actually the case. It might rally his base.

He is watching this unfold, I assume. He was smart to just ignore Trump's attacks. Best case scenario for him is that Trump gets disqualified from running.

I don't think DeSantis can win outside of Florida with Trump in the picture, mostly because he comes off as imitation Trump. As much as I can't stand Trump, he has the base. He is the Republican platform.

Just read about this. There is an exception in the event the accused has been continuously out of the state. SOL is an affirmative defense that’s largely dealt with towards the beginning of a case. If the NY DA thought that was a real risk, I don’t believe they’d ever bring these claims…because losing on something like that so quickly would look terrible for them.

I'd hardly call the Manhattan DA the ruling party.

You commit a crime, you have to face justice. Presidents or ex-Presidents are not above the law.

If Trump gets banned for legal reasons, DeSantis automatically becomes the default option, without ever having to attack Trump. He could even pretend to be upset about how Trump is being treated.

I don't think Trump would've faced any time if he had never been elected President. Instead he got hundreds of millions of extra eyes on his misdoings, and his crimes cannot be ignored now.

Trumpsters will demand he promise to pardon Trump, and no less.

That’s all fine and good but this is a radical DA who lets violent criminals walk as he pursues political vengeance against Trump..why 7 years later? Why now…I don’t like Trump however the optics stinks
