Nobody is taking off of work to fight for this buster. It will be funny if they have to use 2 sets of handcuffs because he is fat.

Well, he also didn't explicitly call for a riot at the Capitol. However, his words moved thousands to riot. Hopefully, people have now realized it wasn't worth it, but...

Let's just put it this way.

If Trump's rhetoric leading up to Jan 6th was true, I myself would support the rioters.

Imagine someone who is really credible to a demographic of a large number of people in the millions that convinces that demographic that right now as we speak there is literally a building that currently is ripping apart toddlers for human peers in your local neighborhood. Ya I would expect a violent outcome from that.

Trump essentially created a narrative where of course a bunch of people who believe the second amendment is to fight tyranny believing said narrative would turn violent.

Put me in the camp of I’ll believe it when I see it.

That said it’s sad how so many are willing to downplay the rule of law. There is literally a check signed by Trump that was used to pay off Stormy Daniel’s that someone literally went to prison for. There’s certainly debate for how severe the punishment should be but that he hasn’t even been indicted yet shows how much the rule of law has been flaunted

Eh. The big case is the one from Georgia where they have his audio recording of wanting then to find more votes. That case will make a bigger impact then this hush money case.

The Georgia indictment is supposedly coming next week also....

Just because you want to believe this line of bullshit from him doesn't mean it's the first time he's ever told the truth.

They'd have to use child handcuffs for his tiny lil' hands.

if he’s arrested to ultimately just receive a slap on the wrist then meh

an arrest is 1 thing, actual consequences are another

also weird that this potential arrest is being treated like a movie trailer release drop…”stay tuned for next Tuesday”

Trump saying "Protest," in one tweet isn't enough to prove incitement and honestly not enough to invite. Trump started J6 with a steady drumbeat of Stop the Steal, he had loyalists repeating the message, they specified a date well in advance, people made travel plans, made riot plans, bought equipment, took tours of the planned crime scene. Tuesday has none of that. Where should people protest? In DC? Their own home towns? Is there a slogan? How can Proud Boys make a plan with 3 days notice? There may be some ineffectual protesting but you can't stand up a riot that fast.

NY arresting might "break spades" for other prosecutors afraid of going first. After NY moving, it'll be easier on Georgia and whomever else to move to indict.

Downplaying is bad enough. Going below that is another level. Republican leadership continues to treat Trump with kid gloves and refuses to allow any accountability.

"Here we go again — an outrageous abuse of power by a radical DA who lets violent criminals walk as he pursues political vengeance against President Trump. I’m directing relevant committees to immediately investigate if federal funds are being used to subvert our democracy by interfering in elections with politically motivated prosecutions." -

sure, but unless any of these arrests come with some actual real consequences, then it’s all performance art to me…and I’m not sure that they will because Trump getting held accountable is something I’ll have to see to believe

Are these hypothetical candidates also accused of crimes? Did they go through a centuries-old judicial process that included a grand jury? Because the law, which we still follow here, requires a formal charging of crimes.

I thought conservatives cared about the law?
