It was the first time we witnessed Alp head to head to another big. He challenged and won the contest, if not personally but certainly as part of the team.

30 years Alp would destroy 20 years Jonas&NOLA.

hunh? he shot 50% practically 1/1 from 3. Had a double double. Is 20 playing against a dude that is 270 lbs. How tf is that struggling in the post??

 

I don't remember seeing him hit anything in the post against JV, but maybe I missed it, had to step out a few times. I did see some nice transition buckets to be fair. And that three pointer was sick.

The funny thing is people just try to find something to attack Alp. Ingram was fantastic but no one talks about the players supposedly to guard him or Jabari who was minus 18 but we celebrate him instead of insulting him.

Difficult to believe some of the fans are really Rockets fan.

 

Of course they could. It absolutely lowers the floor. But the post I was referencing and many, many others here keep referencing lower odds for Wemby. That is very unlikely “up” 4 with 12 to play and many playoff teams among the 12.

1-4 odds aren’t affected and 5-7 aren’t very different in this or any draft. The long-term results there vary tremendously - it’s more who you draft than where in that range. Plus, of course, 7 only happens if 4 teams leap you, which is also highly unlikely. Regardless of what happens from here out our odds are roughly 50% 1-4 (and odds within don’t change at all) and 50% 5-7 (and predictable player quality there doesn’t change much).

Most of the Silas = Lovie or “so much for Wemby” stuff here is just people fundamentally misunderstanding the lottery structure or how math works.

Saw the little blurb about KJ Martin being one of the best finishers inside in the NBA, with percentages only bested by 7 footers.

I'm shocked nobody made this comparison, but seeing him sky over everyone and pull off one man dunk shows reminded me of a real Rockets Legend, Kenneth Faried.
