Character difference between sengun and kpj & jabari

Let's turn Alpi into a Mehmet Okur type of player so that he can have a very good NBA career.

Need to shoot that 3ball and need to pay more attention on D.

Memo was a 3 for years in Turkey. I don't think Alpi ever played that position.
On the other hand, I think his 3-pt shot will be a welcome surprise once Silas leaves.

 

He's our best player

 

Sengun's character good? I'm sure we've all seen him throwing a mid game temper tantrum after every whistle.

Seems to be more entitled than anything

 

I actually think he's a great teammate. No coincidence we've played great every since he came back. He's our best player along with Jalen Green.

 

Yep, super weird, liking players that play well and not liking players that play like garbage. Also, I revolve my entire life around sengun, not just which nba players I like.

My favorite poster is the kind that divides other posters into completely fabricated groups because they lack the intellectual capacity to distinguish multiple similar yet different agendas.

 

All jokes aside, I don't believe any of it is due to character but there are some cultural/situational factors at play here.

Alpi doesn't brag (maybe due to language) but he does retweet his highlights on Twitter. We've seen him talk stuff on the court ("get that sh*t out of here) and he'll likely do more as he becomes acculturated in America.

Porter, has had a tough life (father murdered, weapons, throwing soup) and has a chip on his shoulder due to talk about his maturity, fit in the league, and talk how much better the team would be without him.

While, Jabari hasn't necessarily had a tough life (son of an NBA kid), he has had to deal with talk about being a bust for being drafted so high and his poor performance until recently.

It makes sense why they would talk after stringing some good games together, although, having some vets with playoff experience around might remind them that they haven't really done much.

 

The Rockets chances of winning significantly go up with our best player KPJ leading. When Sengun plays well we lose. No burning here

I'm mean I'm assuming you've seen the last 4-5 games? Doesn't take IQ to see how well we're playing with Sengun taking a backseat to KPJ & Jabari

These three kids, combined, are younger than Tilman Fertitta - and folks are here talking about their alleged character issues. Lamar Odom didn't have so called character issues when he was young and we see what happened to him. On the other hand, Caron Butler got arrested more than ten times as a youth and turned out to be a fine, upstanding citizen. None of it matters at all at this point or is indicative of the future in any way.

Who here were fully mature in terms of character in their early 20s? Those that raise their hand will be in the minority. Most people do immature things and sometimes make bad decisions at those. All this is is an opportunity for the same stupid SOFs to moan and complain when other players threaten Sengun's hegemony (in their eyes at least) as the best player on this team. Maybe he is, maybe he isn't, but regardless, creating a new thread entirely dedicated to trashing other young players due to their supposed character issues isn't a good look and is sadly reflective of much of the discourse on this site in recent years.

A lot of holier-than-thou energy out here right now.
