That is the problem with most college QBs. Once the ball is snapped, they have one or two options. Most college QBs are not ready for the NFL. 49ers test college QBs on how fast they can process information. Bryce Young has elite processing skills. Unsure about Hooker and the others. I strongly suspect that the Texans under DeMeco Ryans will test college QBs similarly. If the Texans can't get Young at 1.2 and Hooker tests well, Hooker could very well be there at 1.12.
I think Hooker could easily drop to late 2nd or early 3rd. No way he goes before 1.12 in my humble opinion. I watched him every game and I really have concerns with his touch on deep balls. He had a habit of missing wide open wr’s deep and it cost them a couple of games. That being said, if we go with Anderson at 1.2 I would gladly pick him up in the third.
Since you quoted Dan Orlovsky, here is his opinion on Young https://www.yardbarker.com/college_...is_so_good_like_steph_curry/s1_17086_38472615
Hooker has the calmest feet in the pocket of the draft because he's the oldest guy in the draft and therefore just can't move his feet that much.
That’s a very very good comp, although I think Carter has more talent, the mindset/desire is spot on. I worry less with Meco as HC cause I think he could get to him
It's easier to gain and lose water weight in a short period of time than fat and even easier than muscle. It's just biology. I once lost 50+ pounds in 10 days just from fluid loss while hospitalized for septic shock.
If this is the plan, it would be worth it to move up 2 spots for KC 31 first rounder for the extra year of control. However; I believe they will have a trade in place if they are not comfortable with two QBs. IND might want to make sure they skip ahead of both HOU and ARI and would be willing to give up a haul including their 2024 1st Round pick. Moving back 2 spots might not be a problem if they feel comfortable with 4 players. ie Anderson at 1-2, Weatherspoon at 1-12 and Hooker at 2-33.or trade up to make him a 1st rounder. I'm not good at mind reading. And that is all that matters in a draft. What do the powers doing the selection think? Nick Caserio has show a willingness to trade up or down to get the players he targets or for value.
Honestly the reasoning doesn’t really matter. Yesterday was not a good day for Carter to say the very least.
no i used the goff and kyler murray comparison because both were drafted number 1 overall. Kyler even if he was a hard worker, has yet to overcome his small frame and size
