Desantis seeks to punish Disney for disagreeing with him

Eh, it's fine. Seems like the special district was important to Disney once upon a time because they were developing wilderness into a theme park. Now, the heavy lifting has all been done. The district remains and is now under the control of DeSantis loyalists, but they're just in charge of essential services. It's not like they can realistically deny Disney firefighting services or something for saying the wrong thing.

I'm put off by DeSantis abusing the power of his office to take revenge on a political enemy, but the substance of his revenge looks pretty small potatoes. Probably, Disney's loss of control over the special district was probably long overdue anyway. Really the only thing bad about it is the ugly way DeSantis abused his office to kick it off in the first place.

I’ll have to look at the details more but my understanding was Disney was in charge of things like code enforcement. I’m sure many of my clients would like to be able to enforce building and zoning codes as they like but I think the problems with that would be obvious.
