Liked the Mason trade and the Ward signing. I wanted at least one big splash at LB or DL and a new C. A trade for Kelly and extensions for Mason and Tunsil would be good. If we’re not spending elsewhere then pour money into a talented OL to protect BY.
We continue to sit back while other teams are making moves. The only position that feels significantly upgraded so far is head coach. Really not impressed by Nick at all. He’s going to have to mail the draft like the Jets did last year or he needs to go and we need someone who can balance FA with the draft.
With the #1 defense as a security blanket, one of the best OLs+TE, a top 5 RB and Samuels as a supreme playmaker. SF is miles ahead of where Houston is fundamentally constructed and its not really an apples to apples to think Young would do as well as Purdy just because of the system. Its setting up the kid to fail. Our roster needs balance in the worst way and run defense MUST be at the top of the list in terms of talent influx. Going 3 straight offensive players in the draft would be wild.
Damnit all these teams/players are ignoring the new NFL rule that if the Texans offer a player a contract the player MUST sign with the Texans. The player has no choice in the matter...
They need to draft a center and atleast one TE. Then next year work on the wr position, although they're not in a terrible position at wr. No excuses
He signed He signed a starting safety, a starting wr, a starting guard, and a starting DE. It’s only day 2 of FA. He may still make trades and/or is waiting until some other players are released. He also has to find money for Tunsil or trade him and extend Mason. He is doing an outstanding job. You guys are being too impatient.

It's a fair point but I think overstated. We'll see where the roster is. For all we know Pierce is the second coming of Jamal Lewis and a full season of Stingley and Harris turns the defense around dramatically under Demeco. The roster has some talent. They have about 12 starters who should be average or better based on past performance or expectation based on where they were drafted. The Texans have also had poor coaching and injuries. Purdy was also barely drafted, not a top 5 pick...
