Burrow was a consensus number 1 pick. He wasn’t carried by a system or other players.

Stroud does not have Burrow upside. Stroud might be a less athletic and less clutch version of Burrow. Which is not something I want

russell wilson was more compact than bryce young, and is more well built. Also wilson has yet to show he can lead a team deep in the playoffs as a qb making max money. This is why i worry about qbs like wilson, hurts, lamar. Any qb who is on their rookie contract with that size and playing style better win while they are on affordable contracts because once they get paid its gonna be harder to surround their team with elite talent and hide their faults. The peyton mannings, patrick mahomes, and basically any other qb that can diagnose coverages without being force to buy time to scramble will be worth the money

he was a consensus number 1 pick for that draft sure based on the season he had, but burrow wasnt this all-time elite number 1 generational prospect. A lot of websites compared him to the likes of jared goff/deshaun watson and said he had a floor of mitch tribusky. Its damn near impossible to say joe burrow was a generational prospect with so few game film on his, its why he was knocked as a one year wonder. And had questions about his injury history and leaving ohio state

Regardless, Stroud didn’t do what Burrow did.

stroud whether you wanna believe it or not does have burrows upside, lance zielen even almost added burrow as a player comp to stroud's profile on nfl.com but decided it againist and only put jared goff. The revionist history a lot of you guys are having about joe burrow is funny to me. I remember exactly what the scouts were saying about burrow. Zierlen is a coward in my eyes because he was afraid to give bryce young a tua comp

agree to disagree anthony richardson can still be a goal line rusher, or possibly used as a taysom hill type( who sean payton developed into a decent player)

Agreed about not starting the clock/shortening the championship window.

I do like the Ridgeway/Ward signings. I was hoping for 3-4 guys though.

There are still a couple of guys out there that I like.

Cant believe Murray is still on the team. Much less at 10 mil, 2 yrs and Vander Esch/Long got 2 yrs/11 mil.

and andrew luck didnt do what cam newton did. Who cares

cam newton and burrow is actually did the same thing, both transfers who started 1 year with a new school won the heisman, became the number 1 overall pick. Nobody saw cam newton as this all time generational prospect either. But he still went number 1 overall because of the season he has at auburn

He does not have Burrow upside. He might have Burrow level physical skills. Stroud crumbles under pressure. Burrow does not.

Stroud has been carried by elite talent against a subpar conference, he throws to wide open receivers more than not.

I'm not the guy to talk to about Stroud, I would never pick an Ohio St. QB high in the draft and I'm certainly not down with having to deal with Stroud's agent.

Or wait until 2024 to draft your QB.

thats exactly what burrow was doing at lsu throwing to chase and justin jefferson. CJ Stroud makes a lot of tight windows throws as well

The majority of Strouds tape is wide open receivers, or forced throws over average to below average opposition.
