I've seen him projected from the 20-40 range. Really depends on scouting and where a particular team ranks him on their board. The Cowgirls took a Center in the 1st when everyone thought it was a reach, he turned out pretty good. I believe JMS has low bust potential, but from a value standpoint I'd look at him with our 2nd or trade back later in Rd1 if he was my target. Some really good defensive players should be there at #12.
You can get quality linebackers in the 2nd or 3rd rounds. Demeco was a second round pick. It could simply be a factor of depth at the position in the draft.
Reeves-Maybin was already cut. We’re not going to fill every hole in free agency. Not going to win a lot of games this year anyway so going big in free agency next year makes the most sense.
He does speak the truth. Quality over quantity is his thing, I generally agree with this philosophy. However I trust Ryans to find the center piece LB for his defense, whether that's by FA or the draft.
This cant be rebuilt totally this offseason. Which is why I want them to wait until 2024 to draft a QB in a better QB draft.
I know the start of free agency has been a bit anticlimactic for Texans fans but Caserio is doing it the right way. Better to build through the draft and pay your own guys than overpaying for free agents. They still have 5 draft picks in the 1st 3 rounds and a franchise qb is on the way.
