It's a troll thread design to trigger sofs, pretty sure original poster doesnt really think that . Smith and sengun plays different roles. I honestly don't see Smith playing center full time at this stage of his career. If u get triggered then that means the intent of the thread worked. Sengun and smith plays different position currently. Sengun is way too talented to b made irrevelant.
Scal and Perk did talk very positively about Jabari at 5 and doing an actual 5-out offense. Maybe he should play 5 more often - especially against teams without a scoring center.
Except Boston which other teams play Centerless? Zach Collins/Spurs, Undersized Bam/Miami, Drew Eubanks/Portland when Nurkic not available. Who else?
He tried and failed. But it seems that Silas is a Samuel Beckett follower: Try, fail, re-try, re-fail, better fail. He cannot bench him at the start because of possible outrage but he tries other methods: Forgetting him at the 4th, DNDs,etc.. He will do whatever possible in his remaining ill-fated adventure.
I think he could play 5 for stretches against any team. Obviously, I wouldn't want him trying to match up 1-on-1 vs Embiid or Jokic. But I'm not overly concerned about any other center.
So you guess Lopez of Bucks, Steven Adams, Rudy Gobert-KAT, triple towers of Cavs&Jazz, DeAndre Ayton,Ivica Zubac, Domantis Sabonis.Valancianus,Nurkic,... will be no problem for Jabari?
Nope. I never said that. Never said anything remotely resembling that. Most centers in the NBA are a problem for us. For that matter, most non-centers are a problem for us. We suck. Not sure if you've noticed, but the last 3 years haven't been great here - we've been awful. What I said, and what I'll say again, is that Jabari could play C for stretches. He could enable us to give opponents a different look. Will a few minutes with Jabari at 5 be the difference between us being a bottom-feeder and being a title-contender? Nope. But, considering we're already a dumpster fire, I think it could be worth a look.
I chuckled when the team looks to give him the ball in the post more than they ever did with Sengun - the guy who actually has post play abilities. Jabari's stiff movements in the post were horrid. If a player's only offensive move is to shoot over someone, I don't want them in the post.
Next season I am hoping that we get Nembayama as our starting Power Forward, then Smith will be the starting Center for the Rockets, Y
Yeah ,when he get better handles ,learn how to box out ,how to screen ,has a better court vision, learn to respect his teammates , have a higher bbiq, get 40 lbs without losing his speed , get teams designs their defenses for him, play consistent more than 3 games , than of course he might make sengun irrevelant, but which he will not learn forever is what sengun said at his predraft espn interview.
