Houston McGrady was a 6'9 SF with PG court vision and a J that was literally a laser beam to the rim. There was just no arc on that thing.
Orlando McGrady was one of the most explosive athletes in NBA history. Go watch highlights from his season where he was scoring champion.

I'd prefer he isn't anywhere near the team

McGrady was insanely athletic before injuries slowed him down

How you know who is the BPA? If we knew who is the BPA there wouldnt be a need to think about who to pick.

BPA is something you decide years after looking back on their career. If you asked Atlanta who is the BPA between Luka ans Trae at the time of the draft they will say Trae "Curry" Young is the BPA.

Personally I take Miller 2nd in this draft. He reminds me of 6'9 Klay. He doesnt need to be super sthletic cuz he snipes from 3.

Scoot is nice but is just average height for a pg and as injury prone as Wemby. Thompson Twins cant shoot and arent blowing up against high schoolers. Whitmore is the other guy I'd look at besides Miller.

Obviously you take the player you think is BPA. As far as I understand it, it's Wemby, then Scoot, then everyone else. If the Rockets think similarly, then they should take Scoot over every non-Wemby person.

If Rockets think Miller is BPA then you take him. My point was we should not draft for "fit" at #2.

Character is also a factor when defining BPA.

Yes everything should be considered when drafting. Has Scoot improved his shooting? I’m somewhat impressed with him, but he sure looks like another Iso heavy PG.

Yes, Scoot has made big strides on his outside shot this season. It's still not his strongest skill but the improvements have been significant.

Thanks then I would take him over Miller if we aren’t signing Harden.

Perhaps the Rockets could got for Cason Wallace or Anthony Black. I prefer Wallace. With Victor/Miller/Whitmore/Walker (in order of my preference)

Wallace coming off the bench for a few seasons as Van Fleet or other vet starts.

    Van Fleet/Wallace
    Green/Josh Christ
    Miller/Tate
    Jabari/Eason
    Sengun/veteran Free Agent

There is a reason you posted that. You want a team that works together and players that have more of a capacity and capability of taking over any given night sharing the load instead of watching one guy always create.

Don't mistake how smooth he was for a lack of explosion.

He had the most explosive first step in the league for nearly a decade, he had a vertical jump of over 40 inches and actually accelerated when he spun off someone on the way to the basket.

Now, a lot of times McGrady would get lazy and settle for shooting 20 footers and not driving to the basket for fear of injury - but he was the best overall athlete in the league for awhile.

He is a scouts wet-dream.... 6'8" 220 lbs with a 7'3" wingspan, with an incredible first step, great coordination and dexterity in his hands, and excellent vertical and even better hangtime.

Players with more natural ability than him in the history of the league can probably be counted on one hand, especially for the era he was in. He would probably be a PF now.

Yeah, T-Mac was an elite athlete, like just about LeBron-level. Just didn't quite have the same competitive drive or most importantly, durability.

I don't really see how that benefits the Rockets, honestly? Isn't this ultimately about making the NBA team better, not "winning" some hypothetical "who got the best draft value" contest?

If Scoot actually isn't as great of a prospect as he was made out to be, it actually hurts us because instead of a 27% chance at a surefire generational talent we only have a 14% chance.

It's not like this is about Miller's stock improving, he is what he has been all season for the most part, and if anything his stock has also declined due to questions about his character and legal status, even if he does benefit from Scoot's stock falling in the rankings. And not everybody even has him #3 (although it seems like most analysts do).

    Oh no "it's real" !

It's not some "gimmick" created to mess with the VERY SERIOUS MATTER of VERY IMPORTANT ONLINE DRAFT DUDES FANTASY DRAFT RANKINGS - which is not at all a gimmick of any sort.

I will adjust my credences accordingly

I'll admit I don't watch Ignite games, just highlights but Scoot averaging 6.8 apg in 30 mpg doesn't scream bad playmaking to me.
