I really hope we're not just sending off our best vets just for funsies though. I really hope the plan isn't to tank for another year. I'd rather have a competitive 5-6 win season and start building a winning culture and not replace guys like Tunsil with unproven rookies.

Unless the deal is a major deal, just keep him. He's a vet, he knows what he's doing, he's going to protect our new QB.

Lol trying to scare the Texans into trading up. I’m pretty sure they agreed on a QB before that trade was made.

I'm to the point that it will be one of the two. Both are good options. Not gonna kick my dog if we end up with either of them.

Exactly. They're trying to convince the world that the owner and GM of the team bought into trading all that capital AND their best offensive player for a spot and they're not even sure who they're going to take?!?! Yeah right.

5 wins is the 5th pick this year. That's pretty close to tanking anyway. IF they can get a 1st and a 2nd round pick for Howard then I would move him.

If the plan is to draft a QB at the top of this draft then trading one of the best tackles in football makes no sense... we don't need David Carr 2.0

Trade them all off, I'm looking forward to an epic failure.

They can sign Davenport and WFV to replace them.

Instead they're going to draft Doug Flutie.

This is interesting. LT's price may be too high and/or he may not be the kind of guy DeMeco wants.

I get that it was dumb, but I don't see it hurting the team long-term. They are going to pick a QB at 2 and there doesn't appear to be much difference between the top ones. Even if they landed 1 they were staying to pick a QB.

Definitely something to take note of when considering completion percentage but at the same time Burrow also had elite receivers so it doesn’t necessarily mean Stroud won’t be good. We do need to be reasonable about the expectations of a QB when the offense around them isn’t good at all. I’d be ok with Levis or Richardson if we could pick them at 12, it just feels like too much of a gamble at 2.

I agree with everything you said.
The only QB I’m ok with at 2 is Young.

Same. I've compared him to Mariota in that aspect, a couple times. Worries me.

I'm holding the new QB to the Mills standard. Doesn't matter if Burkhead is your best RB, Moore is your WR1, the new QB has to be great immediately.

The Keenum signing has me worried on two fronts

    1. Makes me think we’re going QB at 2 in a weak QB class. This’ll likely backfire and we’ll be back here in 2-3 years when our meh QB doesn’t pan out.

    2. Keenum instead of a Jimmy G or a Carr or someone else a little more aggressive screams “draft safe QB” too. I don’t like any of the QBs this year but if you’re in that scenario you have to go more bold in my opinion.

I wish we’d be more bold overall. Give the Jets a 6th rounder for Wilson in a few days. If he’s awful, fine, we’re in position for a QB in a better draft. Or if you don’t want to give picks, wait out the Saints to drop Winston and let him be the bridge for a Levi’s or AR if you must draft a QB this year.
