    Why is this weird?

    Sandy Koufax
    Hank Greenberg
    Shawn Green
    Ian Kinsler
    Al Rosen
Moe Berg (look up the story)
    Ken Holtzman
    Ryan Braun
    Ausmus
    etc....

I had to ETA the last post… as you did have the original Hebrew hammer in your list.

Ok we are basically at the halfway point of spring training.

Name 1 pitcher and 1 position player that makes the team that was not necessarily projected to do so.

    P Blanco
    C/1B Stubbs

Hank Greenberg was a serious badass, in more ways than one.

He can play centerfielder from time to time or in switches. He is good enough to make most the plays but over an extended period of time he will be exposed.

He is a pretty good corner outfielder though with above average range and solid instincts.

I didn't say he was as good. I just said his fielding numbers were as good. Dubon suffers a little bit from the Everett syndrome. He makes plays look routine and seldom has to dive for the ball which hides how good he is defensively. Assuming he can get his hitting back over 700, he will be in the majors for a while.

On location today, Hunter looked sharp to start the first, all contact weak. Good seeing Uncle Mike back in uniform.

Of course I post this and back to back hard hit balls but right at a player. But plenty of strikes.

His fastball are grapefruits. It's so easy to hit.

We know Brown can be effective as long as his command is good, so I all I care about at the moment is walks and hbp.

I think that Dirden single was his first hit not for extra bases. If he keeps playing like this, it will be hard not keeping him on the roster.

Korey Lee has hit better than Yanier during ST. Another homer and a single in first 2 at-bats today.

Hunter Brown pitched 3 innings and gave up no hits or walks and struck out 3. Glad he rebounded.
