Biden already told the eastern european leaders last month that crimea is off the table. Biden also told the leaders that the end game is not for the elimination of Putins regime.
Watching the RealLifeLore videos in the past has ended up with this guy in my YT feed. One of his points around the six minute mark is that replacing American weapon systems and munitions sent to Ukraine a lot of times means money going back to American businesses and communities as those items are built here.
If you think the war will be over with if putin dies then you're honestly dumber than I thought you were. Seriously
Not necessarily, but I’d take my chances regardless. Still it’s important that the US shows the world that they aren’t regime changers like the narrative of the anti US Tulsi Gabbard types make the US out to be. A narrative that certainly is a primary driver on Russia and Chinese propaganda outlets. The US has a lot of reputational damage coming out of the Bush Iraq war. Biden knows this and so he’s trying to make it clear we don’t play that game anymore. It’s as simple as that at least from a narrative standpoint even if behind closed doors I’m sure there are NATO and Five Eyes discussions and possibly secret operations to influence changes in leadership in many countries. The fact is though, if Putin is assassinated under most circumstances the powerful person or people pulling the trigger were at least publicly arguing that Putin should go harder at Ukraine. What they say in private is something we should all hope is different. The best scenario for Russia stability and a shift in aggression in the future is for Putin to use the lever of an elections as a mechanism for staying alive. Aka announce he’s retiring after the year, and truly allow for an election to happen where people actually get to vote. That’s unlikely to happen but it’s certainly the best we could hope for.
