Another mock draft as of today https://draftwire.usatoday.com/list...-richardson-bryce-young-cj-stroud-will-levis/
Read the first pick and closed it out. No way we give up a first to move up a spot. Let alone this year's number 12. Right? RIGHT?!?!
I think these are fantasy Chicago lovers mocks. Would see adding pick 12 as terrible overpay for moving up one spot. CHI moving 3 times is just ridiculous. This is a WEAK QB draft these kinds of moves are made for generational QB talent which doesn't exist in this draft.
I would stand pat unless you are absolutely in love with a player and believe another team is as well. I would not give up the 12th pick.
Drew Brees on Young "Bottom line, you turn on the film with Bryce Young and the guy's got talent," Brees said. "The guy makes plays, the guy throws with anticipation. He is a smart player, he knows where to go with the football." The former Heisman Trophy winner also has an SEC Championship, Maxwell Award, Davey O’Brien Award in his trophy case as well as a consensus All-American honors and two All-SEC selections. Young took Alabama’s starting job in 2021 when Mac Jones left for the NFL. He only missed one start over the last two seasons, despite facing NFL-caliber defensive prospects on a weekly basis in the SEC.
My draft so far: #2 a. Anthony Richardson/ b. CJ Stroud #12 a. Quentin Johnston(wide)/ b. JSN(slot) #33 Jamyr Gibbs or Darnell Washington Still working on the 3rd round and beyond but leaning towards Achane if we miss out on Gibbs. Also would like to start on our OL and DL. Steve Avila preferably with one of the 3rd rounders.
I see what you're going for, but with your picks at 2 and 12, you run the risk of having 2 guys that even if healthy, could be 2 busts. That's too risky for my blood. I know people here believe Bryce will be (or already is) hurt, but make no mistake, he's the safest bet to be a good solid QB. As for Quentin Johnston, I think dude has bust written all over him. Slower than expected, shorter than expected, AND he doesn't high point the ball as much as he should either. I'm completely out on him....regardless of the cost. But JSN, could be awesome in the slot for us...if healthy. Ironically, everyone believes Bryce will get hurt playing in the NFL, but most fans seem to overlook the fact that JSN actually WAS hurt. Missed most of the season with a soft-tissue injury... I'd still take him, but I'd definitely be nervous to. For that to linger for as long as it did, I definitely have concerns.
You could say that about any 2 picks in the draft. If Bryce is your man fine, but it is completely legitimate to be concerned with his physical attributes.
Anthony Richardson would be the Texans way of getting Gary Kubiak off that couch and back in the game. What better way to help a young QB than a championship winning QB coach?
