https://www.nfl.com/news/titans-releasing-pro-bowl-center-ben-jones-after-seven-seasons-with-club Would he fit the new Slowik scheme for the offense? He my have played with Ryans for a few years. https://www.houstontexans.com/news/...tor-wants-fast-physical-tough-unit-daily-brew "Texans Offensive Coordinator wants fast, physical & tough unit"
I didn't think the first one posted and I can't delete the second one. Now tell me why you don't want the reining Pro Bowl Center at an area of need when we need so much help everywhere. There may be a valid reason and I'd like to know it.
This is correct. We need a center and Ben Jones is a good center. There are other good centers available, just hope the Texans get one. This is a down year for OL in the draft, so FA is probably the route to go.
Titan dead cap hit $4.87M or $2.293M depending on his designation. This should lower his asking price. We would have to see whether the reason for not passing the physical is a long or short term issue or just justification for releasing him for cap space..
There definitely appears to be a larger supply of good players than demand for them. Probably a result of overzealous short term spending.
A serviceable starting center is absolutely a need on this team, Ben Jones fits the bill, bring him home. Leadership skills don’t hurt either
Center options are wide open at this point. We should be able to grab one even if we have to slightly overpay. Quessenberry should not be the starter next season.
