We’re all probably being a little too hard on the kid…he did have a few nice and timely turnovers tonight.
He has no doubt earned the title of new “tank commander”. As Ryan Hollins always says, “you got to go out and seize the opportunity when given the chance” and to the credit of Nix he’s absolutely done that.
I really loved this moment from Naishen Dix, ignoring the easy lob and bricking the layup that would have put us in front. ****ING GOOD JOB MAN
This guy played 35 minutes, Sengun played 26 minutes. You could literally play Alpi at guard instead of Nix and get much better results. Only reason Nix didn't play even more minutes is that he fouled out.
I really despise Nix's play just as much as the next guy. However to be fair he's shown a lot of growth over the season. He must be really killing it in practice to have gotten the coaches conference to get as many minutes he has over others. This was not his best game but he has been finishing better around the basket and is improving. He may not stick on this Rockets roster but I hope to see him still in the league in 10-12 years (ala Ish Smith).
It was absurd to play Nix instead of Alpi, Silas is cementing his legacy as worst coach in league history.
Truthfully he’s no Ish Smith. His handle is weak, he’s careless with the rock, lacks quickness and touch around the rim. He may have a 10 year career overseas, but he lacks NBA talent. To your point he might kill it in practice, but when the popcorn starts popping…
well duh! because alpi is one of the best guards in nba hes not your run of the mill pg hes A GENERATIONAL PG TALENT

this is why capitalism works silas salary is i hear cca 1mil per plus say 5 mil from KPJ's next contract 3 mil from daishen nix's contract 10 mil from daniel theis' contract etc thats a lot of money even if he gives 50% of it to players agencies and/or 25% to stone.. thats still a whole lot money , certainly more than if he does his job, plays sengun , pissing off half of rockets fanbase and not gets wemby if he plays sengun more and his team wins 40 games he still gonna get fired best case he gonna keep getting paid 1 mil per or 2 even if he lands the best coaching gig in nba hes not gonna get paid more than getting just a 1 year salary from a mediocre player that gets a max due to his preferential treatment eg if jalen green wires him 20 mil to his overseas account, after all is being said and done, which is perhaps less than a half of 1 year salary of his supermax that silas is set upon securing for him, this is more than he can ever hope to earn in nba by 'being a good coach'...
