    I don’t know…
Prog rock is the stupidest thing in music besides hair metal and Beyoncé/ Taylor Swft/K-pop…
…and Steve Wilson is the most overrated, tasteless dork I can think of.

    ? Can you clarify?

Rush is considered Prog Rock and many consider them the GOAT. Pink Floyd, Genesis, Yes are also on the list.

I'd say that there are some Nu Metal and Trap Metal bands are far worse than anything in the hair metal or pop arena.

I guess I’m just not as interested in drag shows as many on here…

I’m just saying I don’t prefer visual theatrics in my music.

After listening to funk, soul, jazz, etc for a good month, I wanted to get into some good guitar based music. Yes I could have gone the route of punk, post-punk, hardcore, post-hardcore, etc but wanted stuff that is a little more intricate- true some prog is pretentious but I try not to listen to that stuff.

Ok, that's fair. But you don't have to 'watch' music to enjoy it. Video didn't really kill the radio star.

Cool. I'm genuinely curious, which bands were your favorites to watch live?

Okay, there will always be an element of theatrics in a performance so maybe I should rather say that style should never trump substance. Last five shows I’ve seen are Beethoven Symphony No. 9 at Carnegie hall, Pavement at Kings theatre, DEVO at Pier 17, Big Thief at Bowery ballroom, and Bill Callahan, also at Bowery.
