That doesn't make any sense. The bill did become law and it only did because it was McConnell who had the power and not DeSantis nor Trump. Had McConnell opposed it, Biden wouldn't have any of this crap to brag about.

McConnell isn't well loved by the MAGA base, but he obviously has a base because he keeps winning elections in his state and he keeps winning leadership races in the Senate Republican caucus. He represents a more centrist wing of the Republican party just as Biden represents a more centrist wing of the Democrats. I don't like the dude, but he's more powerful than Trump or DeSantis at the moment and you can't really write him off.

The bill would never have passed if it wasn't for biden pushing it through. Mitch McConnell and Senate didn't just come up with a infrastructure bill. The white house drafted the bill and the senate finished it. Mitch didn't just one say, "hey we need a trillion dollar infrastructure." white house drafted the bill and pushed it through.

Trump had larger numbers in congress but never passed anything. He couldn't even fund the border wall. Republicans are not able to govern properly without democrats

    According to latest yougov poll

more than 60% of Americans don't know we passed the largest infrastructure bill in history

55% of Americans think unemployment is above 5% (it's at lowest point in modern history at 3.4)

More than 70% of Americans aren't aware of the climate bill biden has passed

73% of Americans aren't aware of the gun legislation bill biden has passed

I don't think there's ever been a bigger disconnect from DC and mainstream Americans. Biden did what he promised he would do. Make politics boring again and have people return to normal life.

It's sad that nobody in real world has any clue about anything happening. Weird and sad

The issue of reinvesting in infrastructure has been on the political consciousness for years before Biden pushed it through. Obama was talking about it in his second term but he had a Congress that reflexively opposed everything he was for in his second term. Trump made promises about it during his campaign even though he wasn't sincere about it and never gave it much effort when he was in office (another idiotic move of his admin -- he'd probably have been re-elected if he'd signed an infrastructure bill, covid be damned). It has been out there for years in both republican and democratic circles. Not saying McConnell gets the credit for the law, I'm saying there was already bipartisan agreement that it should be done (though somewhat eroded because Trump didn't favor it) and all that was left was navigating the political roadblocks to getting it done (which Biden did admirably).

Dems should be shouting their accomplishments from the rooftops at every opportunity, but it doesn't seem like they do

I wonder how many non-plugged in Dem voters know that pretty much the entire Republican party voted no on capping insulin prices. I knew because I browse Twitter, not because I heard it from the Biden admin.

Biden's congressional experience and connections were surely a plus in getting the deal done. I never understand the perspective that having experience is a bad thing.

There's been a bipartisan agreement in DC for 25 years we need to onshore our semiconductors because we receive 90% of our <3nm chips from Asia

There's been a bipartisan agreement for gun legislation for decades. I can go on and on about things biden has done that had agreement. Who cares? Who delivered who didn't?

You dont get brownie points in politics for having ideas. The famous quote in politics, "ideas are like an ******* everyone has one."

You put up or shut up. There's no 2nd place medals in politics. Biden delivered and other folks didn't.

Trump literally told democrats that he would refuse to work with them unless they stop investigating him. Lol

People don't realize how difficult it is to actually pass laws. There's nothing harder in American politics than getting a bill through the US senate. Governoring isn't made for everyone.

You can't shout it from the rooftops when nobody is listening. Have you seen cable news ratings all across TV? Everyone is down 20-25% across the board. CNN just hit a 10 year low this week

    https://www.forbes.com/sites/markjo...es-to-victory-in-february-cable-news-ratings/

I don't think there's any way to even get the message out efficiently. I have no idea what they do

cable news isn’t the only way to get out your message

I see and hear far more republican ads on Youtube and radio than I do Democratic ones for example…I pretty much never see or hear left wing ads if I’m being honest, but the fear mongering right wing propaganda is everywhere

and most of the time, I don’t see Democrats touting their accomplishments or breaking down what they’ve passed into something easily digestible for the common person who isn’t gonna sit down and read some 1000 word article on the Infrastructure Bill and what exactly is in it and what it’s gonna do

Yes McConnell is certainly Republican leadership and arguably most of the achievements credited to Trump, big tax cut and lots of judges, are more due to McConnell. As minority leader he’s had much less power but his willingness to work with Biden has been instrumental in getting several things passed. His intransigence has also been what has kept things like the John Lewis Act passed.

McConnell is not going to be President or even the Republican nominee for president. He though has shown little inclination for being President and seems to understand the Senate is where he wields the most influence.

@JuanValdez high speed train breaking ground which is heavily funded by biden infrastructure bill. I don't think people just how huge the infrastructure bill literally was. It's going make such a long standing impact on this country in every way.

Every airport and almost every port in the country is getting funding for rehab and improvements. We're getting new terminals all around the nation. @rocketsjudoka hopefully they'll name a few terminals after biden
