Are we just throwing random people of the same height as comparisons? Comparing Jabari to Lamar Odom is like comparing Jalen Green to Steven Nash, it actually makes no sense whatsoever.
If I remember correctly Mac's knees were shot and required surgery, but he couldn't worsen it by playing on it and when he got surgery didn't matter. He could have waited until the season's end to do it, but went ahead and announced surgery without giving the team a heads-up. Mac's main value at the time was as a soon-to-be 23mil expiring contract and I remember we were discussing a Vince Carter trade. It would 100% have put us over the top.
I don’t wanna hear that ****! This guy is supposed to be a sharpshooter and he can’t hit wide open shots. I’m not putting that on Silas, just hit open shots!
When Kawhi first came into the league, Pops would draw up screen plays to get easy midrange curls for Kawhi to knock down and get him into rhythm. That is what a GOOD coach does, not throw a struggling rookie to the wolves. The latter is what trash coaches like Silas does.
Well...this is true, but Kawhi also wasn't considered a knockdown 3 point shooter coming into the draft. 3 point shooting was Jabari's primary strength. I think Silas is horrendous but it's not his fault that Jabari can't do what he was drafted to do.
My point is that rookies will struggle and a good coach finds ways to help them out. To dismiss Silas of blame and responsibility for Bari’s struggles is idiocy.
Anyone know what Jabari is shooting from the mid-range. I get the argument that the NBA 3 is further so it is throwing his shot off. Why is he struggling so much on mid range jump shots, even open ones.
I don't think Silas is blameless but significant majority of the blame falls on the guy who is incapable of doing what he was drafted to do in this instance.
At one point the mob would've scorned someone who said Jabari could be Ryan Anderson with D. Now we'll all be happy when/if he gets there.
I agree that the lion's share of responsibility does fall on Bari. At the same time, he is a rookie. He knows nothing about the NBA and this is the first time in his professional life that he is unable to do something he always excelled at for his entire life. Yet, his own coach does jack **** to help him find his way? The majority of the responsibility falls on Bari, but the majority of accountable blame falls on Silas and co for not helping him figure out where things are going wrong or how to get him going.
Jabari could be struggling no matter what adjustments Silas made. This team is full of young prospects that haven't struggled as badly as Jabari has, but the majority of blame falls on Silas? Can't a rookie just struggle and develop for a bit without it being anyone's fault? Marcus Morris and Chandler Parsons came in as rookies together. Parsons shined while Morris struggled, despite Morris being a lottery pick and Parsons being a 2nd rounder. It was evident in preseason that Parsons was ready to play while Morris wasn't. Likewise, we saw Eason play with confidence and consistent energy while Jabari was still figuring it out. Jabari has been a starter all season with consistent minutes and his role is as simple as it gets. He has plenty of potential to have a great career, but he simply isn't ready yet.
I am not blaming Bari's struggles on Silas. I am blaming Silas for not doing anything in an attempt to help out with said struggles. If my #3 pick suddenly can't do something he was great at his entire life, I would be looking into why and what I can do to help. What spots does he like better? Does he shoot better in motion or off the catch? Can I get him going early with some easy bunny plays? This doesn't just apply to Bari by the way, but for all our promising players. Silas on the other hand, does diddly squat.
Green had a Nash esque pass. KPJ is more like Odom. Lefty’s and both have mental issues. Jabari is Ryan Anderson without the shot.
