Has anyone here done it? I'm auditioning for that "Don't forget the lyrics" show on Fox. I just got an email saying they're going to call me for a phone interview. To anyone who's done this before, any idea what the questions might be? Or any other advice for that matter? I'll keep you posted on how far it goes.
Cool, good luck FFB.. If you're as crazy and entertaining in real life as you are on here I'd bet it would make for good TV..
Funny you mention that. I know this tool that went on that show when it was in Houston. He eliminated all but one girl, then took her out that night and ended up hooking up with her sister.
OK, I just got off the phone with the guy. He told me they weren't doing open auditions in Houston, so he wants me to send in a tape. On the tape, he wants me to sing three songs, along with telling about myself, in general. Now I need to find someone with a video camera. Basically, my friend is a casting director in L.A., so she's trying to push me along in the pecking order, so I feel pretty good about it. Then again, you never know. But hell, most people are walking out of there with at least $25,000, so it'll be worth acting like a jackass in front of a camera.
Damn Fatty, you mean that WASN'T you on Don't Forget The Lyrics last night that almost had a heart attack?
definitely worth it. What gameshow was it that your friend was trying to get you on last year sometime? I remember you had asked if any of us wanted to try also.. I may have started an e-mail that I never sent.
It was "Show me the money." It got cancelled, so obviously they weren't able to get new contestants. OK, I just downloaded the application, and I think I could have a problem. It asks if you've EVER been convicted of anything. As some of you old hats may recall, I have an assault charge on my record from 8 years ago. I just sent an email to my L.A. friend to call me. We'll see.
FFB, go all out on your tape... they are looking for big personalities for their shows. in another thread about Singing Bee vs. DFTL, I was saying how my friend in Vegas got all the way through the process and I was a "backup singer" for her. we spent ten hours in the studio sequestered, and at the end of the day they released her because her "storyline" wasnt exciting enough... she is in the banking business, with a husband and a background in musical theater... they let her go, as well as a father of two young children working as a personal trainer...that bothered me, both contestants had driven to LA from Vegas and let some real chumps go on that day... if they like your tape, they are going to give you about ten songs to complete the lyrics for... they are apparantly using the same songs, at least they did for my friend and then they quizzed me as well. these are the songs they gave me Spoiler the other thing is that they hire independent casting directors to find them compelling storylines. so the casting directors are trying to find big personalities, to show the producers that they are good at finding the potential ratings-buster... just go all out, like you are a Red Rowdy during a playoff game... and maybe your friend will be able to push you all the way to a million dollars! GOod Luck!
If you have to ask, you are not smart enough. If you get on, it was just meant to be. I seriously hope you do and would love to know when you would be on. I would be on the Fatty Wagon.
Wife and I had a meeting with the casting director today. I think it went pretty well, she asked us how we met (we told the PG version), wanted to see our dynamic, how competitive we were (very) etc. She asked what we would do with a large sum of money (something they ask the finalists on the show). My wife said travel, college $ for the kids, etc. I said hookers and blow, we all laughed and then I told her I was joking and wouldn't say that on TV ( ), then said I would use the money to take a break from my family and travel with Ru Paul (the host). Anyway, she's going to pitch us to the main producers then if we move on to a virtual tryout. It's filmed in England so if we get on it's at least a free trip.
damn hope you get it breh! maybe you can visit ffb in england. also what is the rated-r version of the story?
Not a game show, but... My mom was somehow chosen to be featured on a Canadian version of Say Yes to the Dress, which focused on the mother of the bride. They followed around my mom and sister for a while, but my mom isn't really much of a "character." Not surprisingly, the footage never saw the light of day. Yes I know, cool starry bra.
