No. That's not how it works. The same player at their current state pushing their shot volume nearly doubled doesn't scale linearly with efficiency.

I wanted to check this for Cam this year because i dont recall it being "right" with him this year and indeed its not.

Under 5 FGA he shoots 24%
5-9 FGA he shoots 35%
10+ FGA he shoots 50%

I get the caveat, which is he is a limited minutes player who gets PT sporadically and gets more PT when he's doing well, so its not exactly crazy thats whats happening....

Its hard to determin things with young players like this imo...their development of Cam has certainly been odd...

Cam Thomas is not a type of player who ever will develop the type of game where he can wreck having attacking the paint and getting to the line even against elite interior defenses. Green had an unusually bad shooting night at the line but you saw the havoc he was causing on the Nets interior defense. There is a higher chance Green becomes a consistent shooter than Cam being a good scorer in the paint that can cause foul trouble on opponents. It's not like Green has a Ben Simmons problem with scoring outside the paint. He obviously has a middie game and off the dribble 3 game he can get more consistent with over time like when he's 23 or 24. It isn't difficult to see Green being a Shai level player by that age.

Cam developing into a better player than JG is far more probable than that Shai nonsense lol. Shai is arguably a top 7-8 player, a true franchise player for OKC it's beyond a shadow of a doubt. At some point Shai was even considered top 5 guy this season. Not only he's better at pretty much everything, he has higher bbiq than Jalen which you can't teach. We are not sure if Jalen is the guy for us yet and i bet if we draft Scoot, which is clearly the bigger talent of the two, he'll be the guy. Jalen's ceiling is Zach Lavine. Never go full fanboy my man.

Even Bulls and Wolves fans think Green is a far higher talent than Lavine. Lavine is more of a straight line athlete compared to Green. He doesn't have the same wiggle and lateral quickness as Green nor was he scoring off the dribble anywhere close to the level of Green at age 21
