Sure he was, and do you think an NBA owner is going to trade the league cash cow, that he has to pay peanuts compared to the revenue he’s generating? Yeah, we both know the answer to that. But hey, keep crediting a man for staying when he couldn’t leave.
The cash cow that was willing to walk away from the game at his peak…yah I think they’d take his threat seriously and being that he was the cash cow — they wouldn’t exactly want him disgruntled. Not to mention he WAS the league. But sure, the face of the nba resurgence and GOAT was not involved in team roster discussions…
He walked away and was still UNDER CONTRACT. So when he wanted to play again, what team made $$ again?? Yeah, no team is trading Jordan and losing out on all that $$. Again, not sure why you are giving a man credit for not hoping to another team when he couldn't.
No doubt, which is why in sports you hope to have a owner who looks at the team aa a passionate hobby and hunger to win yesterday and today Owners like the Clippers and Suns and even a young Cuban are the types to push max chips on the table and welcome a luxury tax payroll But most owners only look at it from pure money making/clout ego portfolio which leaves a lot of teams fan base bickering rightfully about how cheap the team owners are and not wanting to win big and just do enough to fill the arena and sell merchandise which is why they will keep a max player around to leech off of The owners who are willing to pay for 3 max players(like Suns) are usually the ones serious about winning rings
I was hoping he'd get one when he was with us but before that and now I could care less..I prefer super teams to fail
