This is all fake outrage It’s not people on the d&d Clutchfans are hanging out with transformers or drag performers on the daily Or binge watching that rupaul show or swimming with Leah Thomas this is the same as Steph Curry saying he’s all about helping poor people but when they want to build affordable housing , he and his wife said his children weren’t safe around them
Actually last night I was hanging out with some trans people and drag performers. My band played at a music festival and several of the performers were trans gendered and the headliner band performed in drag.
Thank god I live in Brooklyn. Everyone here is either gay, trans, straight, bi, or weird as hell… And nobody gives a ****.
Polk County. Not too far from Orlando. I think McGrady and Amare are from the area. It was more than 20 years ago. The area has changed a lot.
Gov. Bill Lee signs into law a ban on drag shows. Performers say it’s too subjective. Tennessee governor appears to have dressed in drag, an art form he wants to restrict
Should I got to Tampa? man miami beach hotels went bonkers St Petersburg? i know peeps in Sarasota @AroundTheWorld
“Racism” is judging someone by external physical factors and not by the content of their character. So is judging someone who is transgender or in drag.
So in other words we should judge people by their appearance and not by the content of their character.
Furthermore there's an issue when (usually) the same ideological side of the spectrum argues that, when it comes to race and sexuality, subjective and lived experience makes all of the difference in the world. It's incongruous to say "Only gay people can play gay characters in movies because straight actors can't possibly channel what it means to be gay" while also saying "This person is now a woman, full stop, and must be regarded by society in the same way as somebody born a woman." A man who becomes a trans woman has the benefit of having lived as a man for x years prior to transitioning. They haven't had to put up with the lower wages, the demeaning comments, the dismissive attitudes in professional settings, etc. that women have. Granted, by opening up to the world as a trans woman, they're going to face a whole new set of prejudices that living as a man didn't force them to handle. I can see why women chafe at the idea that trans women must be regarded as their equals when, before transitioning, they might have enjoyed the benefits society confers upon men and not women. It's not hard to see why some women would consider this ideological imperative as erasure of their lived experience, something that intersectionality seems to value for every other minority group.
Don't know many trans people who were excelling in life in terms of privilege and mental health before their transitioning. I'm going to bet their lives were significantly more hard and felt a lot more ostracized and lonely than the median white woman in America.
Transgender people can dress in their choice of clothing You can’t change your race but you can wear pants @Commodore @tallanvor
Okay. I'm glad you said that because a lot of people here including you are doing oppression Olympics trying to portray women as victims of trans folks. I'm sorry but a median trans human has a much more difficult life and experience things like having their family shun them that the median white woman in America simply doesn't experience.
