I respect @rocketsjudoka and he has good views and is honest. According to the latest yougov poll over 54% of Americans say Biden hasn't even signed a major legislation lol. He's passed more domestic spending than any other president in over 7 decades and Americans literally have no idea what's happening in DC. @rocketsjudoka says the solution is dems to campaign and spread the word but this is harder in reality. People are disconnected from TV and cable ratings are down 30-40%. It's hard to get your message in front of eye balls. Having large signs where people drive/commute daily is a GREAT idea.
Sure I can accept that people aren’t paying enough attention. Our culture is full of distractions and we have a collective problem of low attention spans. That doesnt mean that we should just be fine with politicians engaging in ego building self aggrandizement for what are collective achievements. That even someone who is for this says it’s gauche shows that this is at the minimum in poor taste. I fully understand there is a short term political benefit to this but I’ve frequently argued that abandoning principles for short term political gain is one of the biggest problems we face as a society. All of that said Biden naming a tunnel after himself isn’t the most pressing issue we face. I would still rather he not do it and think it will just add to cynicism about politics.
Look around you and see the era were living in. Biden and democrats should play like Obama did so they can get their ass handed to them like Obama did right? The entire republican leadership was agaisnt the bill. Why would he not show off what he was able to pull off? Biden gave rural America a HUGE victory they've been asking for decades Biden has done more for rural America than any of your gop leaders have yet NOBODY knows any of his accomplishments because people are completely turned out. Actually the entire Republican leadership wasn’t against the infrastructure bill. McConnell voted for it along with 29 other Republican Senators.
McConnell has no real power. DeSantis or trump will be the nominee. They were BOTH against the bill which means the bill would never have been law. McConnell is a nobody with the base.
