We've been tripped up by some of the junk defenses in the past like the 1:3:1, Full Cour Press, and High Zone. But we look solid against the press this year, so that is resolved, and unlike in the past, Roberts and Walker have the ability to break the freak zones by making themselves available on the baseline. Both can finish. Roberts has seen most everything by now. Walker has not.
We moved to the West region in the latest edition of bracketology. https://www.espn.com/espn/feature/s...logy-2023-march-madness-men-field-predictions
Selfishly I want NYC. I can also make it to KC or Louisville, but LV would be near impossible for me.
What do you think is the significance of the Alabama loss today? They were touted as the number one seed overall. I think now, UH is playing for no. 1 seed.
It's ours. Committee can't ignore that we are #1 in the polls and the net now. Alabama had a case and lost it today.
Just take care of business against Mudcats tomorrow and keep winning. That is all we have control over. I would love to have the #1 overall seed but I think the deck may be stacked against us. Just heard Dickie V while watching the UT Kansas game stating his case why Kansas should be the #1 seed even if they lose to Texas today. Him and others just like him put more emphasis on quad 1 wins than anything. Even though by any other metric we are #1 and have been most of the year. I just want to keep winning. Memphis is going to throw everything at us tomorrow. They are going to press us. They will drive on us to try to get calls and get us in foul trouble. They will probably throw some zone at us. We are only favored by 5.5 points. I expect a tough tough game. Win or lose we need a game like this to get us ready for what lies ahead. Kendrick Davis will be back. As far as I know they will be at full strength and looking to solidify their case for the tournament. Only way we get #1 overall seed IMO is if we win against Memphis tomorrow and win our conference tournament and if Kansas loses today to UT and goes on to not win their conference tournament. I don't like it but it is what it is.
LOL now we're projected in the East region and dropped to #3 overall https://www.espn.com/espn/feature/s...logy-2023-march-madness-men-field-predictions
In the long term scope this Memphis game is meaningless. Memphis could make us look bad and it would not change the real goal. Stay healthy, learn something to be ready for the big dance. That said I hope we wax the floor with their tears. Go Coogs
Au contraire. We have plenty of motivation to win out...all the way back home to a natonal title. Eat em Up!
Mem and UH hate each other, I love it. I hope they still play in non-conference once UH moves to the BigXII
