I'm not necessarily for trading first overall if we win the lottery, but I do wonder what most people think would be a somewhat realistic offer that would have to be considered..... For me, if OKC was offering Giddey, Chet, and a couple of picks I would at least think about it. As unrealistic as this may be, it happened with Andrew Wiggins. Different circumstances but that doesn't mean there isn't an offer out there to consider realistically...
Thought a little about this one random day. Even if OKC offered our picks+Chet+Giddey, I wouldnt do it.
I would lean no, but I like Giddey as a defensive pass first point guard with potential to add shooting. Chet is poor man's Victor to me. High boom bust potential based mostly on health. Victor's continued growth scares me a bit. The heath history of players 7'5" or taller isn't great. I think you can accept he'll never play 75 games in a season and still take him. Does make me wonder if the right young talent was offered with a track record what it would take to change my mind... I'm with you, leaning no... not sure who else becomes available? Ja with his baggage doesn't do it I think...
It is nice to imagine Giddy, Chet & their pick this year (which should be around 8) Trade the 8th and Clippers 15th pick and trade up or trade for a nice player. Would be sooo much talent on the Rockets Giddy Tyty Green Josh Christopher Jabari Eason Martin Chet Jarace Walker Sengun Garuba That would be essentially PJ Tucker, Gordon, and the 1st pick for Giddy/Chet/Jarace Walker
Referencing the Wiggins trade is unfortunate. If memory serves, it was to a team that was bringing home prime LeBron and already had Kyrie - they made the move to get an all-star level big and be a contender. If they had come last 3 years in a row, probably s good chance they took a swing on Wiggins
4 quarters don't equal a dollar in the NBA. victor's potential is priceless. outside of jokic, Luka, Tatum, Embiid, or Giannis, you laugh and hang up the phone.
I didn't say same situation... just pointing out if Love was younger then it would be more similar if offered someone 25 or younger like an Anthony Edwards or something...
Maybe rephrase of OP... IS there a realistic offer anyone can think of that would be good enough to think about seriously?
There's more chance of Les Alexander getting into a time machine and forcing his past self to trade Yao for Lamar Odom the way Steve Francis wanted
If he's that generational prodigy that everyone seems to think , no!... His build isn't ideal for health reasons.. But with the way the NBA is headed in the next 5 years, you simply can't take the chance in trading him.. No matter how good the package makes you tomorrow IMO
Rockets get a generational prospect and potential franchise player, and would entertain trading it away for *checks notes freaking Josh Giddey and Chet
