I understand I wouldn't get it, as a pasty guy who grew up on the tough streets of, um, League City... But still, what do the members of his crew think exactly? "Yeah, we could cost you a billion-dollar career, but... at least we're legit and help you keep it real! ... Real limited, real local, and real dumb." Real friends would just leave him alone at this point if they could even glimpse what's happening. And how soon will he lose his shoe deal?
his circle is a bunch of idiots and yes men…probably a bunch of day-1 dummies who don’t understand that once in the NBA and making millions, it’s time to move differently
Ja Morant is the definition of hustling backwards How are u trying to make it from the NBA to the hood?
While he hope he figures this out, b/c he's a great player to watch and has a potential HOF future... this stuff makes the last sprint of the western conference even more intriguing. What a (great) mess it is.
It you've been listening to The Mismatch podcast, Chris Vernon has defended Ja at every opportunity and spun his actions to put the blame on everyone else..including the Pacers and the 17 year old kid Ja threatened. Vernon has a very long history of dunking on other players who did similar things or aren't good role models. He used to paint Harden as the biggest problem in the league because he partied after games. This guy is a gigantic hypocrite and is losing so much credibility. You can tell his co-host Kevin O'Connor has to bite his tongue. He's the voice of the Grizzlies on the national level and a part of the problem for not holding Ja accountable.
Ouch, I can not imagine Nike keeping him. Once you do stuff like this, sponsors don't want to touch you. If a player is this dumb, to repeatedly put his career at risk, then its just the next guy up. Ja already has been having Knee injuries at a very young age, he relies heavily on his athleticism, I see his career not even reaching that of Derrick Rose. This gives Nike an out at any point now, if he gets injured or his shoes don't sell well, they will use the moral clause as an out.
