When trump got elected into office this is what I thought he was going do. Go all in on a infrastructure bill and tour the nation and name a bunch of stuff after him. Bridges, highways, terminals, ports, etc. Instead he got steamrolled by passing a tax cut and getting screwed. Amtrak is already renaming a bunch of lines after biden. Biden will be remembered very nicely by history no matter what the trolls say. Better than Obama in my opinion when all is said and done.
I wish he wouldn’t go around naming things after himself. Biden deserves the credit for getting a lot of new infrastructure passed but this is exactly the type of self congratulatory move that alienated a lot of people from politics.
This is an awful take. People don't get tired of politicians celebrating. They're tired if politicians NOT delivering. Politicians never deliver and talk a big game cough trump. Less than 50% of Americans even realize biden passed a infrastructure bill. It's effin stupid as hell for them not to celebrate it and show it off. Passing largest infrastructure bill in usa history is something to be proud of esp as it was done in a bipartisan method. *NOBODY* knows any of bidens accomplishments. Normie voters don't know biden passed a gun safety bill or a energy bill. I talk to normie voters daily as I own a business in rural America and literally nobody knows. Biden being so boring forces voters to tune out of politics and not pay attention. Biden is doing the right thing. You have to win elections
It's fascinating how nobody in the public knows anything that's happening in DC. I bet if you polled the audience on these forums over >50% would have no idea about the legislation biden has passed. People are so turned out of politics right now. Cable news ratings are all down 60% across the broad. Biden has accomplished a major thing which is: making politics fun fit policy geeks but boring for normies. Biden has literally revolutionized the student loan program by making all loans forgivable in 10 years if you're middle class. I've spoken to tons of financial aid officers and they have no idea lol. People are so checked out I don't think we realize.

@rocketsjudoka it's funny because BBC did a segment where they interviewed Hispanics in the valley and asked them why so many Latinos switched to trump in 2020. They got a simple answer from thousands- "trump sent me a check with his name on it and thats first time a politican has done something for me" Voters are very simple minded people. The idea voters are turned off by politicians showing off doesn't exist. Voters are tired of politicans lying to them. If you accomplish things you should show it off to win over votes. That's how a democracy works. Why would you not celebrate passing historic legislation that other president have wished. People don't realize how difficult it is to pass legislation and actually govern..

Yes it is gauche and it’s what Trump likes to do. By all means Biden and Democrats should campaign on this and he can do his tours touting it. Naming something that was passed with bipartisan support especially while you’re still president seems is exactly the type of low class stuff self aggrandizement that Trump did.
