Certainly I believe a woman could govern as well as a man and when given the chance ther have been many outstanding women leaders. Our resident German might disagree but Inthink Angela Merkel has been the greatest world leader in the first part of this century.

I don’t think that women are inherently less evil than men. I think whether good or bad historically women haven’t been given the same chance at power so we hear less about good or evil female rulers.

I think the difference is that less women think of using violence as a solution to a disagreement or dispute with an enemy. Sure, women can be just as devious and calculating as men, but I think men are more prone to using violence against their enemies, and certainly more horrific acts of violence against mass people. Sure, I believe in defending your country, or aiding others being killed by evil leaders.. I also believe there are many good men, who don't fit that description. I just don't think a great leader needs to have the mindset to start a war and start killing people in other countries for land, power, or money.

Men are more prone to engaging personally in violent acts, for sure. I’m not sure it follows that they are more likely to send out a command to drop bombs on another country.
When there is such distance between the order and the physical harm that results, it seems that gender-based tendencies towards violence are less relevant.

Women aren't immune to going buck-wild with the violence.

Yes, women are capable of violence as rulers.

A lot of it depends on how a woman is raised.

Most women, even those that becomes powerful, are raised at least experience being a second class sex - and from my personal observations, it makes them see the world different, and in many cases makes them better at problem solving, considering the needs and concerns of multiple view points.

Arguably the best modern leader is Queen Elizabeth I and being a woman was a large part of her ability to be successful.

I agree. We need more non-emotional, level-headed female leaders like Marjorie Taylor Greene.

For some leaders including Elizabeth I they might've felt compelled to be tougher and even crueler because of their gender. Elizabeth, Catherine the Great, Wu Zetian and the female Pharoah Hapshepsut were great rulers who ruled their countries at high points but also were cruel and ruthless. According to historical accounts all of them did feel that they couldn't show the impression of weakness and so had to be ruthless. In the case of Hapshepsut she would appear in public dressed as a man even wearing a false beard and had representations of her shown as a man (the World's first cross dresser ;) )

I would have to think longer about all 10.

Off the top of my head,
    Pol Pot
    Hitler
    Mussolini
    Pinochet
    Ngo Dinh Diem
    Franco
    Putin
    Milosevic
    Stalin
    Maybe Fuentes of El Salvador?

I have wondered that myself, and it gets complicated.

Some of the women, like Bloody Mary in England essentially did not rule even, and the things were done in her name. Would that be the case if she were a man, I just don't know honestly.

In the case of Elizabeth I, she wasn't above some degree of cruelty, but she really wasn't very bloody compared to her contemporaries, and especially in the circumstance she was in. The more I study her, the more I conclude that she is likely the most successful leader of the last 600 years.

Catherine the Great killed people, a lot of people, but again, not really compared to others in her station and time.

Hapshepsut desperately did not want to lose her throne, and that included have her depicted as a man, although there is some debate about whether she really was being depicted as a man or as a pharoh, and it so happened to be all pharohs were men. Either way, her son erased her from the record.

"“Trashing white guys . . . the nerve of you white women, Let’s go back in history here. You guys stood by us toxic white males through centuries of our crimes against humanity. You rolled around in the blood money and occasionally when you wanted to sneak off and hook up with a black dude, if you got caught, you said it was nonconsensual. That’s what you did! So why don’t you shut up, sit down next to me and take your talking to.” - Bill Burr

I post this to not so much slander White Women
    but
to point out . . . that there were alot of women who were the power behind the throne.

    THAT SAID
I don't think women would be THAT different and honestly . . . .probably would need them to not be different

When people said OPRAH for President . . . I said I did not think she would be a good president
    BECAUSE
Oprah cares. She is compassionate. I simply cannot say . . . . "F*ck them kids! Drop the Bombs and destroy our enemies!!"
NOW HILLARY ON THE OTHER HAND!!!! She would definite Drop Bombs on your moms!! I think Kamala too
That ability IMO is necessary for political leadership -- The TOUGH CALL

There was a Roman emperor named Elagabalus who was almost definitely transsexual. What scandalized the Romans wasn't that he liked to have sex with men (he liked women, too!), as that was pretty standard. Rather, it offended their sensibilities that he was the "passive female" in his gay relationships.

He lasted 4 years as Emperor and was swiftly sent to the trash pile. In addition to the scandalous sex stuff, he was a hick from Syria who tried to force his religion on Rome, so the sex stuff was only part of it.

There was a whole bunch of probable propaganda about him at the time, so hard to really say how munch is true, but its always been interesting to me that they didn't care that he was gay, but they simply COULDN'T STAND the fact that he adopted the "feminine" role in his homosexual relations - you can be gay, just make sure you're a man about it!

    End detour. Sorry.

Most evil is so subjective - how do you even measure that?

But if I was on the right, I know what the answer would be:

    Fidel Castro
    Saddam Hussein
    Yasir Arafat
    Muammar Gaddafi
    Any Khamenei
Xi Jinping (although they probably don't know who he is so they would just say "Chi-na"
    Kamala Harris
    Nancy Pelosi
    Hillary Clinton
    Justin Trudeau

Yes I’ve read about Elagabulus. He was considered one of the worst Emperors had. In addition to all of the above he came to rule at 16 and was by all accounts a terrible child. Think of Joffrey Baratheon from GOT but actually worse.

Whether Hatshepsut wanted to display herself as man or Pharaoh the result was the same and she herself was aware that her gender was a liability so she wanted to portray strength.
