The law bans public cabaret shows that feature a “female impersonator”. So, as long as they aren’t “impersonating” a female but are actually female, they can wear the same clothing and do the same suggestive dancing and it’s OK? Why should that distinction even matter?
The way the law is written, a biological male reading in public but representing themselves as female would be in violation of this law - whether or not they are dressed in drag.
I think it's pretty clear that different people just have different ideas what "freedom" means. For me, freedom means not being forced to see my toddler having to wear a face mask all day. For our woke friends here, freedom means being allowed to take their toddler to a drag show. With a mask on. To keep him safe.
lol, of course this dude was out in drag living his best life half these anti-LGBTQ people probably have a trans side piece
Your child is more likely to be sexually assaulted and/or groomed at Church than they would be at a drag show. Ban religion to save the children.
I am glad we have such passionate defenders of taking children to drag shows. They are clearly sensing what people really care about. I suggest the next Democratic candidate makes this a core part of her/his/its platform.

Specifically, the bill and amendments restrict the expression of certain types of entertainment that may be considered adult-oriented or harmful to minors. Any law that restricts speech or expression must satisfy strict scrutiny, meaning it must be narrowly tailored to serve a compelling government interest. Second, the bill and the amendments also implicate the Fourteenth Amendment's Due Process Clause. The amendments, in particular, include a preemption provision that prevents political subdivisions from enacting and enforcing ordinances, regulations, restrictions, or licenses that are in conflict with the bill or amendments. This could potentially infringe on the due process rights of those political subdivisions by limiting their ability to regulate conduct within their jurisdictions.
You will win elections with that. Freedom! Free drag shows for children! Yay! Y'all should become election strategists for the Dems.
That's not a thing that's happening at all anywhere anymore. Where have there been any mask mandates, other than on airplanes, in the last 2 years? What exactly is your problem, again? Ironically, in Florida, a state congressperson has recently filed a bill called "The Ultimate Cancel Act"...a bill aimed at essentially disenfranchising the entire Democratic Party in Florida. It was filed by a Desantis sycophant. But you're the party of freedom...as long as you agree with it.
More 3Ds. You don't sacrifice liberties for your own biases in this country. What is your salient rebuttal? Prove me wrong, I'll admit it, gladly. I'm always happy to learn. But if you're wrong, admit it.
For instance in schools in Massachusetts, New Jersey, Michigan, Pennsylvania, to name just a few examples. https://www.usnews.com/news/health-...mporary-return-as-covid-19-flu-and-rsv-spread
I am glad you wokists are fighting for the right of this kid to go to drag shows. Keep up the good work! (But she must wear her mask!)
AMENDMENT #1 rewrites this bill and creates an offense for a person who engages in adult cabaret entertainment on public property or in a location where the adult cabaret entertainment could be viewed by a person who is not an adult. This amendment defines "adult cabaret entertainment" as adult-oriented performances that are harmful to minors, as such term is defined under present law; feature go-go dancers, exotic dancers, strippers, male or female impersonators, or similar entertainers; and include a single performance or multiple performances by an entertainer. https://wapp.capitol.tn.gov/apps/BillInfo/Default.aspx?BillNumber=HB0009 The phrase “male or female impersonators” serves no purpose here other than to discriminate against gay and/or gender-queer people.
You don't live in those places so I'm not sure why you care. Also, they were temporary and put in place to help mitigate the RSV/Flu/Covid triple whammy that was happening across the country. It didn't hurt anyone and is no longer the issue it was. Just because you think its some form of abuse doesn't actually make it so.
Were you actively lying or just uninformed when you claimed this wasn't happening "at all anywhere anymore"? Also, as far as I know, "you don't live in Tennessee, so why do you care"?
