Did not like the first episode. Things not to like: -Opening scene was confusing, as in I think most will think it was a flashback. It wasn't. So it forced me to sort that out. -Little kid was stiff. Looked like a Fett, cool, but stiff delivery. -Aliens looked like puppets -They throw Grogu. -It went Pirates of the Carribean or Swamp Thing for a moment there. -Another fetch quest, it's like a bad video game. It has to get better. The whole thing felt a little stiff to me.
I mean, it was an exposition episode to set up the arc and possible recurring antagonists for this season. I really don't know WTF people were expecting when the show is basically starting from zero. All of the plot points from season 1 and 2 are mostly tied up save for the darksaber.
I was expecting better than that. They should not have only released first episode if that was all it was going to be.
The first 3 episodes have felt like a waste of time. The pseudo-Andor episode in the middle of episode 3 was terrible.
Episode 2 was good. Episode 3 had some decent action, but it hit a new low when they were sucking on popsicles and debated touching a rock. I do think the rehab character could have been interesting, but they nerfed him with dialogue. I didn't foresee Bo-Katan dip having an impact, so that was a good twist.
I assume they are going to bring the doctor back into being a major character - maybe even the "bad guy" for the season. Im guessing that stuff is supposed to set up why he behaves how he does when he eventually comes back into contact with Grogu. I dont think the doctor was just random exposition for the sake of exposition.
Hopefully they're not using the doctor to explain how Palpatine was brought back. Nobody cares about that.
Episode 3 has to set up something bigger down the road, would be a very strange one off tangent if it doesn't.....
What I did like was the actor leading the faction of Mandalorians who work as mercenaries. He carried his scene. Liked the weird flower dress. Outside of that I saw too much I, Robot action as well as Romeo and Juliet/Troy. So that was kinda lame for me. They have some solid characters around which to build an emotional connection. Mof Gideon, the Armorer, the mercenary, Grogu, The Dark Sabre, the X wing pilot guy. They just haven't connected emotionally yet to any of them. Bo Katan is kinda floating, and her story may pan out still, but it's not resonating to the top yet. The aerial combat, ships, and aerial views of the cities, planets, have all hit the Star Wars mark.
