The Texans having to trade up to the #1 pick because they were too incompetent to secure it themselves - would that be the most Texansest Texan the Texans have ever Texansed? Like, whattheholy****?
How should they have “secured” the pick? Let’s not pretend that you would have ever been in favor of any course of action they chose.
This guy is a doctor, but he's also a pessimist. He tends to learn toward the worst likely outcome more often than not.
Any # of ways: rest their starters; fire their coach; trade away players at the deadline that had no long-term use for... I think their ownership and front office are grossly overmatched so picking wherever is likely a Hail Mary - but, yeah, securing the #1 pick was pretty much the LEAST they could've done.
I want Bryce young I have a weird feeling it’s going to be one of the top defensive players for some reason
From Caserio's interview, doesn't sound like they'll trade up to #1. So hopefully that stays true and they get bpa (Anderson).
But according to you they aren’t allowed to sabotage a black coach like that due to optics/appearances/etc. Forcing the coach to tank is what the Flores lawsuit accused Miami of so it goes beyond mere optics.
Just read an article about the Texans being scared to death about drafting Bryce Young after hearing about how tall he really is.
I'm not interested in playing this dumb game with you. Once they were 2-13, every ship had long ago sailed on every other previous bad decision - and there were a lot of them - and their full attention should have been channeled towards securing 1.1. No jobs, or careers, or reputations, or any other bullshit was on the line week 17.
He's also right about 95% of the time. He called Schaub/Stingley and several other injuries throughout the years.
This? When did the Texans hire Todd McShay? Did I miss it? “Texans 'Scared to Death' to Draft Bryce Young? QB's True Height Revealed” https://www.si.com/nfl/texans/news/...mbine-bryce-young-height-alabama-demeco-ryans McShay didn't hold back his thoughts on how he thinks this should make some general managers for teams at the top of draft feel. “If I’m a GM, I’m scared to death of drafting him," McShay said.
Seriously? Don't defend the incompetence they exhibited as a franchise. They could have sat Cooks, they could have sat Tunsil or even their QB. There were any number of things they could have done, but they didn't and the front office knew just how damn important that last game was. They essentially lost a lot of draft capital getting an absolutely meaningless win against the Colts.
