I thought you were saying that I had stated some "wild conspiracy theory". I hadn't seen such posts from any non-crazy posters here either. Didn't know you were referring to Rocketscast.

I once said the segunatics were getting more Lin-like by the day.

That may have been an understatement.

True, thank you for pointing that out.

That is, if "supporting Islamic culture" means "rooting for NBA players" ;). Both my favourite NBA player ever and my current favourite NBA player happen to be Muslims. I love them both!

But OP said that exact thing?!

The conspiracy that they are holding him back to not look like fools is posted throughout this thread, and also a quite active one on RocketsWatch, and OP flat-out agrees with it in that quote.

not that there is anything wrong with it, but it would be a conspiracy, so I don’t get why one wouldn’t just own it as such.

If you consider that a "conspiracy" (I would consider it an attempt at finding a logical explanation for their behaviour), then yes, I own that.

Personally, I would consider a conspiracy "that guy must have slept with that coach's daughter" or "they don't like him because of his skin colour/nationality, etc.".

Trying to understand where their behaviour might come from seems more like an attempt at a rational explanation of their bizarre behaviour, not a conspiracy to me.

I wasn’t first to use the word “conspiracy,” so I don’t mind if you want to change that. I was just going with the flow of the discussion that was using to word conspiracy to describe holding Sengun back to not look like fools.

But regardless, that is some wild speculation on a motive that we have zero evidence of.

Would you agree that they are treating Sengun differently to others, by yanking him/denying him minutes while not holding others accountable, and by repeatedly publicly criticizing him while not doing the same to others?

If yes, can you think of a reason why they do it?

Good catch, fair enough, this is what I get for speaking on someone elses behalf. All my points still stand but you can attribute them to me and not to the OP :).

This is a very boring topic for me. Maybe if we were out for dinner or something, I would engage in this RocketsWatch-style talk, but certainly not via typing and probably never on RocketsWatch stage, either.

To me, these conversations are like watching a soap opera, I can’t stop tuning-in RW, but I’m not going to talk about it.

    :)

Well, it's relevant for game action. The guy gets glued to the bench for the last 17 minutes because he is allegedly such a problem on defense, when others aren't any better at all.

But at least half of the fans here actually want to see Sengun play - he is their favourite player to watch.

Not like we are winning, either way.

Differences between atw and hakeem94 is that said poster doesn't spam the forum with these conspiracy like threads/post of Silas hating on sengun bc of nefarious reasons 24/7

If u were to go in blind and ignore who actually created the thread u could have mistaken it for another hakeem94 post.

Just chalk up silas treatment of said player to incompetence and call it a day.

Well it's not because sengun is white. He played garrison Matthew's till garrison got injured so it's not race. Its simply cuz sengun has alligator arms and slow feet and can't jump so they don't really care about his ballerina postmoves, they want hard-core aggressive mean players. But, then I ask myself, why do they like green and bari? Those two are softer than sengun. So then I get back to race. I think if sengun was black he would be treated just like Bari. More minutes, more leeway etc. So yeah, long story short, Tillman and stone need to quit worrying about the pr backlash of firing silas and just clean house and make a Muslim coach, abdelfattah. Cuz I have no doubt with the Trump loving republican in Tillman firing silas, the media will say its race related. The backlash will be horrible. He would need to replace him with a minority. That's why coaches like Atkinson and others are not even mentioned as possibilities it's always Lucas for some reason. Can't be jvg, no way, that would look bad pr wise. Go with Mahmoud.

BTW, these are not my personal beliefs. I'm just posting my thoughts on what I think is going on inside stones and tillmans head. That's all. Dont shoot the messenger. I would have never hired silas in the first place.

On the Sengun thing, I don't think it's race. The euro/xenophobia is a low possibility, ... Garuba and Boban, we have other euros on the squad. Historically speaking, franchise was built on the backs of foreign born guys (Hakeem/Yao).

I think it's just Stone/Silas are big on building around Guard. Early comps of KPJ to the next Harden. Silas wanting his Luka/3 guard lineups. It's just basketball philosophy.

Guards still dominate, but as we seen, for years now: it's been a wings driven too with top Wing guys like Durant, Tatum, Kawhi, and Lebron. Now centers being in top 10: Giannis, Embid, Jokic.

Franchise players of only being guard(s) is very five years ago, it seems Rockets org is a bit tunnel visioned. We can disagree how org sees Sengun, but I'd say it's basketball reasons, even if they are narrow minded ones.

Because labeling things you don't agree with as "conspiracy theories" has panned out so well in the world lately.
