Not to go all jingoist here but if you can type understandable English, then just don't type in German. Less than 1% of the posters here can read German.

You might want to cool it calling the guy "Adolf" just because he is based in Germany - the poster is from Afghanistan. Calling the guy "Adolf" just because he lives in Germany isn't really any better than what you are accusing the poster of.

He clarified that his use of the term wasn't mean in a racial way, and I believe him, because I know that that word is thrown around all the time in German without any racial thought in mind.

I thought his "the wrong Silas died" post was a lot worse than this.

I'm not giving that poster any benefit of the doubt. He always seems like a edgelord looking for reactions. It's more likely he's trolling than using the term "monkey" in a sincere non racial way.

    Thanks for the enlightment @AroundTheWorld.

Not only two coaching staff but whole system in Houston sucks. Bad ownership, awful HC, terrible announcer (R.Hollins), bad squad (no PF back-up, no real PG except rookie TyTy, no real vet,..), disgusting media, submissive fanbase, tanking culture, cheating franchise and its mute supporters,...

Silas played Wood and Theis, tried Bruno and Garuba before giving the starting slot to Alp. As he can't afford to bring Alp from the bench at the moment, he subs him early and gives no PT at the 4th quarters.

WCS is his next hope for limiting Alp but it is another futile attempt.

Wood gone, Theis gone, Bruno gone, Silas and R.Hollins are next. No problem. They were/are not powerful/talented to stop Alp. The problem is this kind of approaches will make Alp a selfish player, not part of the team. I don't like "the guy" mentality and a player is only good/great if he becomes part of the group.

Alp is not having his best basketball nowadays, baby hooks and floaters disappeared but he is still in triple-doubles territory if given time.He is out of form, likely because of "concentration lapse". He will be OK but Silas&Co is fundementally wrong.

Bing Im so honored with your response! So YOU believe him so the case is closed right? Hilarious. These are the type of responses you wanted with this edgy thread isnt it? Now you want to ask for restraint? :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

An Afghan refugee living in Germany dropping racist colloquial language as an integrated member of that supremely tolerant society? I guess I could call him a Sand Monkey and everything is chill right since its such a frequent and sympathetic term! How about Porch Monkeys does that make the cut too?

I won't dignify that post with a quote, but clearly, this Verbal Christ poster (whom I normally have on ignore) isn't any better than whatever he is accusing the other poster of.

Now, back to the topic of the thread.

Another bizarre statement by Silas was when he claimed that Alpi had a "shoot first" mentality his first season and that only now the teammates would believe they could get the ball back if they give it to him.

I mean, these two guys quite literally make stuff up to slander Alpi.

And even when Silas was asked to say something positive about Alpi's development, he looks like it's painful for him to give this lip service, then makes something defamatory up on the fly as if Alpi wasn't a willing passer last year already.

Can someone explain this to me. I understand Jalen and Jabari getting all this rope. They were the number 2 and 3 picks. I may not agree with it, but I understand it. They have received horrible coaching. Here is what I don't understand. Stone traded picks to get Sengun. One would think he would be screaming for Silas to develop him. It isn't like Sengun just fell into his hands like Jalen and Jabari. Stone actually had to do some work to get him. He had to say "this is my guy". So why is Stone allowing this treatment AND the stuff Silas says in interviews? I am in no way, shape, or form a SOF, but to me what Silas is doing is unprofessional. Yeah Sengun has flaws, but all the kids do.

I don't think folks are actually hating sengun with malice. It's more like folks aren't used to a center not fitting the American center dream. Tall athletic and the ability to swat balls at will, dunk master/lob threat.

Sengun does not fit silas ideal center in his guard centric system hence he's receives the blunt of silas critcism. Pretty sure silas wasn't pushing the front office to draft sengun.

A good coach would be able to adapt and utilize senguns strength, but it's been proven silas ain't good

It is not just a difference of opinion or 'can't figure out how to use a Euro big man' certainly doesn't explain it all.

Sengun is literally the only player in the roster who gets the negative comments from Silas and you can feel the strong negative sentiment clearly. Which coach throws 20 year old center under the bus like that? Who talks about a 20 year-old center with excellent passing ability as 'making fancy passes'? . What about 'Sengun wants to score score score last year!' who believes that? The rumors about Sengun not working hard?? Come on, very hard to believe, his competition is KPJ, Nix etc. Silas was talking about how good the other players were when sengun had his first triple double. No positive remarks even on that day.

The list goes on, can't remember it all. And this is apart from all making him earn his minutes different than other players, not playing to his passing ability, not playing fourth quarters, being subbed out quickly when he makes a mistake and many other things which can somehow be attributed to the reasons you guys mentioned.

imho this only makes sense if there was an internal debate(between coaching, management, owners) and a very heated one, before the draft and stone wanted to take alpi at 2 since I hear he is analytics inclined and alpi is an analytics darling and still is, then some of the bigger bosses(owner or his son), less knowledgeable and more prone to thinking marketing-wise, or perhaps listening to coaching represented by silas(who is known to not like big man) intervened, vetoed it and urged for jalen green( the most hyped guy) to be taken at 2, but still allowed him to spend additional picks to take alpi as well at 16...

the problem now is if they let alpi spread winds the big boss will look stupid and it will be like rubbing it in his nose, so they have to constantly hold alpi back for jalen green not to look like a bust and their boss not to look stupid/impulsive/irrationally meddling.

so this is why stone has to approve his pick, who he went out of his way to draft, being nerfed, held back and ostracized...

If he'd stood up for his pick it would be like him saying to his bosses 'see i told you!' And the more time passes it will be a greater 'see I told you moment' so this is why its all dragging out for so long and I am not sure there is a boss who likes to be told by his employee 'see i told you, you should have listened to me!'
    we all hate it! LOL

I didn't say Silas is absolved of those things you stated.

But clearly I am not that concerned about a coach who isn't legit and won't be here long term.

If he is still here you have every right to leave this team, won't blame you.
